WAS và WERE là hai dạng của động từ To be được chia ở thì quá khứ.
- Was được sử dụng trong câu khi có chủ ngữ là: I, he, she, it, các danh
từ số ít (dog, cat,…) và tên riêng (Peter, John,…)
- Were được sử dụng ở những câu có chủ ngữ là: You, they, we hoặc
danh từ số nhiều như (cats, dogs,…)
