Warm-up: 5min
Guessing game :
Play a guessing game with flashcards of school things. hold up flashcards and say the name of
the object out loud; then ask them if they have that object in their pencil case. (pen, rubber,
pencil, ruler, book)
View/ presentation:
P8- 15 min
Say open your books and model the action for students to copy hold up your book and:
. Start by pointing and labeling: Point to each of the school supplies (pen, rubber, pencil,
ruler, book) and say their names one at a time. Encourage Students to repeat after you.
. Play audio 10 and ask students to look at the school things and point to the pictures.
● hold up flashcards 22-26 and ask each students to say the words.
. Start with a conversation: Ask students what they see in the pictures on the page. After
that point to the Rosy and ask, “who’s this” do the same for Billy. point to the school
things ask “what’s this?” “is it a pencil?” etc.
– Then play audio 12, ask the students to look at the pictures while you play the recording.
Point to each speech bubble as you hear the text.
● Ask comprehension questions example what’s the train? (It’s a robber, a ruler, a pen, and a
pencil).
● Who made the train? Are they Billy’s school things?
– Ask students to read the story.

P:9 - 15 min
. Use contraction cord and ask students to look and say:
– what is = What’s“ “It is= it’s”
. Introduce the concept of “What’s this” Write the question “What’s this?” on the board and
point to one of the objects. Say the question aloud and have students repeat it in chorus.
Then, point to the object and say its name (e.g., “It’s a pen”). Repeat this process with all
four objects.
. Practice writing :
Write the words “pen,” “rubber,” “pencil,” and “ruler” on the board, then Ask students to write
“it’s a“ underneath each corresponding picture.
● For comprehension:
Play a guessing game: Hold up one of the objects and ask children “What’s this?” If they answer
correctly, praise them and hold up another object.

P:10 - 10min
.Point and repeat: Start by pointing to each of the objects (bag, folder, door, window,
bookcase) and saying the name aloud. Encourage the students to repeat after you. Audio

. Audio 14, Sing the song: Next, sing the song together. You can point to the corresponding
pictures in the book as you sing.
. Do the actions: For the lines “Open the book” and “Close the book,” encourage the
students to mimic the actions.
● Ask comprehension questions: After singing the song, ask the students comprehension
questions like “Can you point to the door in the picture?”

Game: 5-10min / What’s missing?


Materials:
school things eg. coloured pens and pencils, ruler, rubber, pencil case, book
How to play:
Put all the items on the table. Tell students 'Look at everything on the table' then say 'Close your
eyes and don't look!' Take one item from the table and mix up what is left. Say 'Open your eyes'
Then ask 'What's missing?'
Ask: Students guesses:

What's missing? The rubber or Is it the rubber?


No. It isn't a rubber. What's The pencil?
