SUMMER HOLIDAYS HOMEWORK
GRADE-VII

"Learn while you explore, makes for a summer you'll adore!"

TOPIC- SDG GOAL –1 (No Poverty)

Dear Parent,
Summer vacation is the time for the children to enjoy and relax with honing their skills. These days are
invaluable and most precious and can be made most of it used judiciously. Help children to rejuvenate and
develop an everlasting bond between you and your child by devoting the precious time with him/her. It’s
time to nurture young minds and inculcate the moral values, narrate family anecdotes to keep them in touch
with the roots. Work on building up their strengths. Motivate then to lend their hand to elders at home. This
Holiday Homework will be assessed as a part of Term-1 and must be presented at its best.

Few tips:
 Encourage your child to read newspaper every day.
 Encourage your child for morning exercise and lead a healthy life.
 Encourage your child to converse in English and enhance vocabulary.
 Divide the time judiciously for academic and recreational work as your exams will be approaching
just after the vacations.

What are Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are 17 ambitious objectives set by The United Nations in 2015
to be achieved by 2030 and agreed by all governments for a greener, healthier, more peaceful, and equal
planet.
The importance of devoting urgent attention to sustainable development is critical for the future of the planet
and its people. The impact of the COVID pandemic reveals the urgency and duty to devote attention to
sustainable development, and educate the leaders of tomorrow to more effectively deal with future shocks
and disasters.

“Education is a fundamental right and the basis for progress in every country. With education, we
can transform individual lives, national economies and our world.”
Therefore Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is a crucial tool for achieving this transformation,
which not only empowers students to shape a better world, but also perform better in school. We at Mother
Divine Public School, fosters leadership and 21st century skills in students, empowering them to engage in
the global movement for a more sustainable future, and inspiring students to be involved in such projects
and play a critical role in achieving the SDGs by 2030. In addition to fostering awareness and understanding
of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the assigned tasks to students of various classes subject
wise for winter holidays will give students exposure to diverse experiences making them more empathetic
and caring for life.
Dear Students! Your role today is to discover this world and implement change. Let's fly into the world of
entrepreneurship and sustainability together. Remember; Ecosystem & Restoration is the key to revive
planet.
"Promise us that you will keep your commitments and invest in our future”

ZERO WASTE CHALLENGE – 3D Model

Children experience poverty differently from adults. Child poverty is the lack of public and private material
resources to realize rights. One of them being education. If deprived of these rights, children have their
childhood robbed from them, day in and day out.
Now-a-days some people are making their living from recovering recyclable materials from waste. Keeping
this in mind, using waste materials like cotton, beads, wool, pulses, card- board etc make a 3-D model for
these underprivileged children. The concept that you are depicting should be easily understood and the
material that is being used should be widely available at home.
You can depict any 1 of the following topics -
 Stomata
 Process of photosynthesis
 Clinical thermometer
 Laboratory thermometer
NOTE- The model should be self-explanatory and easily understood. Proper labelling should be there. It
should be easy to carry and creative using only WASTE MATERIAL.
