The safety circuit is supplied with 24..52 V regulated DC voltage. This
compensates for safety circuit voltage losses from long lengths of
cable, oxidized contacts etc.
Note!
With open safety circuit, the voltage is 52 VDC!

2.7 *Critical I/Os and Service TAB
Danger
Proper functioning of critical I/Os in an installation is safety
relevant. Therefore following points must be considered:
• All critical I/Os must be realized with normally closed
contacts.
• In multiplex installations, critical I/Os must be connected
to two different elevators in the group. The two contacts
must be galvanically separated (see graphic below).
Service TAB
Critical I/Os are monitored by the MX-GC software. If a node with a
critical I/O gets lost, the service TAB (technical out of service) will be
activated after a delay of 30 minutes.
Caution
Activation of “Service Visit” by SMLCD temporarily deacti-
vates the monitoring of critical I/Os. This is only allowed
during maintenance work on the installation and prevents
the whole elevator group going to service TAB.

Description of Test Function
Name of Description
Test
DC Link Verifies DC Link operation with voltage measurement,
Test t0 function of SH, SGRW, rectifier and status of capacitor
battery, braking chopper operation. If required, DC Link
capacitors will be reformed (see "CapFormingTest").
Conditions: Safety circuit closed (SH)
Execution: Refer to "Tests" in K 604441 Commissioning.
Current- Verifies FC (SKiiP), wiring from FC to MH, inductivity,
Loop t1 load symmetry and that the circuit from FC to MH is
closed and a symmetrical current flows.
Conditions: Safety circuit closed (SH)
ZeroPosi- Permanent Magnet-Synchronous motors
tion t3 (PMS230/400/420 PMA350/SM250) only:
Determines by how many degrees the position of
absolute value encoder of MH differs from rotor zero
position. Result of this test is in parameter "TR
(ZeroPos)”.
Conditions:
• MH has to be equipped with an absolute value
encoder "SINCOS2048 EnDat".
• Successful DC Link Test and Current Loop Test
• Safety circuit closed (SH)
• Test must not be interrupted, otherwise an incorrect
value will be saved.
Execution: Refer to "Tests" in K 604441 Commissioning.

Name of Description
Test
Memory Checks FC RAM using Read - Write - Read cycles.
Test Result = True/False.
Fan Test Switches the heat sink fans on for ~5 seconds
LED Test Verifies LEDs ERROR, OK, PARAMETER on VARIOcon
Charge Checks whether the DC Link gets properly charged using
DCLTest SGRW and SH.
Condition: The safety circuit closed.
Dis- Checks whether DC Link gets properly discharged using
chargD- brake resistors
CLTst
CapForm- Verifies condition of capacitor battery. In case
ingTest reconditioning is required, a capacitor pulse forming will
be carried out. This forming can take up to 5 minutes. DC
Link capacitors get charged in short, gradually
lengthened bursts using SGRW.
If not successful after several tests, capacitor battery
must be replaced.
