2.5 Safety Circuit
The safety circuit is supplied with 24..52 V regulated DC voltage. This
compensates for safety circuit voltage losses from long lengths of
cable, oxidized contacts etc.

Safety Circuit Contacts

Note!
With open safety circuit, the voltage is 52 VDC!

2.6 Hoistway Information

The hoistway information consists of the following two main systems
the AGSI and the ALSIS.

2.6.1 AGSI System

• Absolute Encoder Shaft Information, AGSI
• Magnetic- or Optical KUET elements

After having the tooth belt tensioned, execute the following steps:
• Execute Measuring Travel
• Adjust "Tacho Factor" if necessary
• Check Leveling Accuracy and adjust if necessary

2.7 *Critical I/Os and Service TAB
Danger
Proper functioning of critical I/Os in an installation is safety
relevant. Therefore following points must be considered:
• All critical I/Os must be realized with normally closed
contacts.
• In multiplex installations, critical I/Os must be connected
to two different elevators in the group. The two contacts
must be galvanically separated (see graphic below).

Critical I/O connected to two elevators in the group

Service TAB
Critical I/Os are monitored by the MX-GC software. If a node with a
critical I/O gets lost, the service TAB (technical out of service) will be
activated after a delay of 30 minutes.

Caution
Activation of “Service Visit” by SMLCD temporarily deacti-
vates the monitoring of critical I/Os. This is only allowed
during maintenance work on the installation and prevents
the whole elevator group going to service TAB.

General Information

Danger: High Voltage

• Prior to work on elevator ensure that no voltage is
> 50 VAC
• Prior to work on FC power unit ensure that DC link is
completely discharged (0 V)
• Do not plug in/unplug any connector until corresponding
devices are switched OFF
• When handling PCBs, always keep to rules concerning
"Handling MOS/CMOS"
• Bypassing safety circuit without express instruction is
prohibited
• Prior to work on door drive, switch power supply OFF. Up
to 564 VDC (at 400VAC) can be present on intermediate
circuit of power electronics
• Even when JHCT is pressed, 24 VDC (LONBUS) is still
on LONIBV PCB.

Caution
• Do not execute electric works when installation is live
• VF11..44BR only: Removing the FC cover results in loss
of warranty claim.

Note
• In case of a serious malfunction and MX-UI with SMLCD
is not sufficient, CADI GC can be used
• To switch OFF LONIBV PCB, JHCT must be pressed and
connector X6 (LONT) disconnected.

40 K 604503_04
Reset VFxxBR (VARIOsys)
• JH OFF - wait 3 seconds - JH ON or
• Press 3 seconds “Reset” on VARIOcon PCB

Reset MX-GC
Press "Reset" on GCIOB360 PCB once. Wait until system is booted.

Double reset MX-GC

Press "Reset" on GCIOB PCB once. Wait until you hear a beep (and
red LED on GCIOB PCB goes OFF) - press "Reset" once more. Wait
until elevator control has booted and re initialized completely.

Reset Travel Control

With Recall Control Station
1) JHM pressed
2) JRH in position "Recall"
3) Press both push buttons DRH-D and DRH-U simultaneously
4) Release JHM
With Inspection Control Station
Similar to procedure with "Recall Control" station

Emergency Stop
Trigger emergency stop only by opening safety circuit (JHM, JHC).
Do not trigger an emergency stop by switching JH OFF.

This brake control module is responsible for release and holding of
the electromagnetic brake of the SM250 hoisting motor.
Due to the lack of a brake lever, evacuation, single brake test and
safety gear test are executed by special "Test Plugs".

Note
Within a cycle of 40 minutes,
battery 1 and battery 2 get
alternately charged during
approximately 3 minutes. After
this cycle of 40 minutes the
batteries get monitored and, in
case the value is = 50%, the
result gets displayed via the
LEDs (0%BATT./ 50%BATT. etc.).
Pressing button "BATT.TEST" al-
lows to monitor and display the
status of batteries within the
above mentioned cycle.
