Name Description
FS_NOM Motor Frequency. Nominal frequency of MH.
[Hz] Automatically set as soon as the parameter "Motor Id."
Receives the last 4 digits of the hoisting motor Id.
Number. If "Motor Id." Is =+00000, the value specified
on the motor plate must be entered manually
US_NOM Motor Voltage. Nominal voltage of MH. Automatically
[V] set as soon as the parameter "Motor Id." Receives the
last 4 digits of the hoisting motor Id. Number. If "Motor
Id." Is =+00000, the value specified on the motor plate
must be entered manually
IS_NOM Nominal current of MH. Automatically set as soon as
[A] the parameter "Motor Id." Receives the last 4 digits of
the hoisting motor Id. Number. If "Motor Id." Is
=+00000, the value specified on the motor plate must
be entered manually.
In case the MH has more than one winding: Be
careful. Enter the correct current value specified for the
motor winding which will be supplied by the FC
(normally the 4 pole / 2 pole pair winding, if available)
Pole Pairs Number of pole pairs of MH. Automatically set as soon
as the parameter "Motor Id." Receives the last 4 digits
of the hoisting motor Id. Number
Examples:
=2 for MH with 1500 rpm (50 Hz)
=3 for MH with 1000 rpm (50 Hz)
=33 for EuroLift PMS230 / PMA350 motor type
=10 for EuroLift SM250 motor type
If "Motor Id." Is =+00000, the value deduced from the
motor speed and motor frequency (motor plate) must
be entered manually

Inertias Mass moment of inertia. Total mass moment of
2
[kg/m ] inertia of all moving parts at rated load.
x New Installation: During commissioning, the
value "Inertia" will be automatically initialized
as PCT- / Chip card parameter and therefore
does not need to be entered.
x Modernization: If the value is not available as
PCT or chip card parameter, it will be
calculated when executing test "Inertia
Measurement". This parameter will then be
written into parameter "Inertias".
Examples: Wormgear: 0,4..2,5 (typical value)

Description of Test Function
Name of Test Description
DC Link Test DC Link Test verifies the DC Link operation
with voltage measurement, the function of SH,
SGRW, rectifier and the status of the capacitor
battery, the Braking chopper operation with
braking chopper and brake resistor. If required,
the DC Link capacitors will be reformed (see
"CapFormingTest").
Conditions:
Safety circuit must be closed (SH)
Execution:
Refer to "Tests" in K 604450 Commissioning
CurrentLoopTst Current Loop Test verifies FC (IGBTs / SKiiP),
the wiring from FC to MH, inductivity, load
symmetry and that the circuit from FC to MH is
closed and that a symmetrical current flows.
Conditions:
Safety circuit must be closed (SH)
46 K 604504en_02
Name of Test Description
EstimMotorPara Motor Parameter Estimation Test calculates
the internal Motor Parameter ISA_NOM, TR,
XH, XR, XS, RS. Only for asynchronous
motor whose internal motor parameters are
unknown, respectively are not mentioned in K
604450 "Commissioning VF22/33BR
(VarioSys) or VF30/50/85BR (VecSys) for
Asynchronous Motors with Miconic MX-GC
(SMLCD)".
Must not be carried out when "Motor Id."
contains a valid 4-digit long Id. No.
Conditions:
x Safety circuit must be closed (SH)
x No interruption of the electrical circuit
between FC and MH during test
Note!
Make absolutely sure that the
wires between FC and MH are
properly tightened
It is normal that the hoisting motor
will, due to the measuring process,
generate a whistling noise during
approximately the next 10 minutes
Caution!
Loose connections cause damage
to FC and the motor connections
K 604504en_02 47
Name of Test Description
Direction Test Asynchronous hoisting motors only:
This test synchronizes the sequence of the
motor encoder pulses with the direction travel
and adapts the rotational field at the FC output
with the traveling direction.
The result of the test "UP"/"DOWN" will be
written in parameter "Phase Dir".
Conditions:
x The hoisting motor has to be equipped
with a motor encoder IG2000 / IG10000
x DC Link Test and Current Loop Test have
been successful
x The safety circuit must be closed (SH)
Execution:
Refer to "Tests" in K 604450 Commissioning
48 K 604504en_02
Name of Test Description
ZeroPositionTest Permanentmagnet-Synchronous motors
(PMS230 / PMA350 / SM250) only:
Detects the deviation from the permanent
north pole to the zero position of the motor
encoder respectively between rotor position
and encoder position. This test determines by
how many degrees the position of the absolute
value encoder of the hoisting motor (not
hoistway) differs from the rotor zero position.
The result of this test may be seen when
referring to parameter "TR / Zero Position".
Conditions:
x The hoisting motor has to be equipped
with an absolute value encoder
"SINCOS2048 EnDat"
x DC Link Test and Current Loop Test have
been successful
x The safety circuit must be closed (SH)
x The Test must not be interrupted. The
result will be that an incorrect value will be
saved
Execution:
Refer to "Tests" in K 604441 Commissioning
K 604504en_02 49
Name of Test Description
EstimatInertia Mass moment of inertia calculation. Only for
elevator installations whose mass moment
of inertia is unknown:
Determines the mass moment of inertia from
test travels in down direction. Must not be
used with new installations or when
"EstimatInertia" has a valid value.
Conditions:
x DC Link Test and Current Loop Test have
been successful
x The safety circuit must be closed (SH)
x Except in case of emergency, test travels
must not be interrupted
x Test must not be terminated early. Needs
2 – 3 travels
Execution:
Refer to "Tests" in K 604450 Commissioning
Memory Test Checks the PIOVECL3- / VarioCon RAM using
Read – Write - Read cycles. Result = True /
False
Fan Test Switches the heat sink fans on for ~5 seconds
LED Test The following LEDs on PIOVECL3 - / VarioCon
PCB are verified: ERROR, OK, PARAMETER
ChargeDCLTest Charge DC Link Test. This test checks
whether the DC Link gets properly charged
using SGRW and SH.
Condition: Safety circuit must be closed
DischargDCLTst Discharge DC Link Test. This test checks
whether the DC Link gets properly discharged
using the brake resistors
50 K 604504en_02
Name of Test Description
CapFormingTest Capacitor Pulse Forming Test. This test
verifies the condition of the capacitor battery.
In case a reconditioning is required, a
capacitor pulse forming will be carried out by
the System. This forming can take up to 5
minutes. In this process the DC Link
capacitors get charged in short, gradually
lengthened bursts using SGRW.
If, after several tests, the test is still not
successful, the capacitor battery must be
replaced.
