2.6 Safety Circuit
The safety circuit is supplied with 24..52 V regulated DC voltage.
This compensates for safety circuit voltage losses from long lengths
of cable, oxidised contacts etc.

With open safety circuit, the voltage is 52 VDC!

Name Description
TR Asynchronous Motor: Rotor time constant.
Automatically set as soon as the parameter "Motor
Id." receives the last 4 digits of the hoisting motor
Id. number. If the "Motor Id." Is =+00000 (for

Execute a "Drive End Commissioning". This prevents to

loose parameters after a "Reset" or when switching OFF.

symmetry and that the circuit from FC to MH is
closed and that a symmetrical current flows.
Conditions:
Safety circuit must be closed (SH)

46 K 604504en_02
Name of Test Description
EstimMotorPara Motor Parameter Estimation Test calculates
the internal Motor Parameter ISA_NOM, TR,

Conditions:
x Safety circuit must be closed (SH)
x No interruption of the electrical circuit
between FC and MH during test
Note!
Make absolutely sure that the
wires between FC and MH are
properly tightened
It is normal that the hoisting motor
will, due to the measuring process,
generate a whistling noise during
approximately the next 10 minutes
Caution!
Loose connections cause damage
to FC and the motor connections

K 604504en_02 47
Name of Test Description
Direction Test Asynchronous hoisting motors only:
This test synchronizes the sequence of the
motor encoder pulses with the direction travel
and adapts the rotational field at the FC output
with the traveling direction.

ZeroPositionTest Permanentmagnet-Synchronous motors
(PMS230 / PMA350 / SM250) only:
Detects the deviation from the permanent
north pole to the zero position of the motor
encoder respectively between rotor position
and encoder position. This test determines by
how many degrees the position of the absolute
value encoder of the hoisting motor (not
hoistway) differs from the rotor zero position.

test travels in down direction. Must not be
used with new installations or when
"EstimatInertia" has a valid value.
Conditions:
x DC Link Test and Current Loop Test have
been successful
x The safety circuit must be closed (SH)
x Except in case of emergency, test travels
must not be interrupted
x Test must not be terminated early. Needs

DischargDCLTst Discharge DC Link Test. This test checks
whether the DC Link gets properly discharged
using the brake resistors

50 K 604504en_02
Name of Test Description
CapFormingTest Capacitor Pulse Forming Test. This test
verifies the condition of the capacitor battery.
In case a reconditioning is required, a
capacitor pulse forming will be carried out by
the System. This forming can take up to 5
minutes. In this process the DC Link
capacitors get charged in short, gradually
lengthened bursts using SGRW.
If, after several tests, the test is still not
successful, the capacitor battery must be
replaced.

x Bypassing safety circuit without express instruction is prohibited
x Prior to work on the door drive, switch the power supply OFF.
Up to 400 VDC can be present on the intermediate circuit of the
power electronics

Caution!
x Do not execute electric works when the installation is live
x Removing the FC cover of VF22BR/VF33BR results in loss of
warranty claim

Note!
x In case of a serious malfunction and if MX-UI with SMLCD is
not sufficient, CADI GC can be used
