GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
(i) This question paper contains 20 questions. All questions are compulsory.
(ii) This question paper is divided into five sections - A, B, C, D and E.

type questions.
(iv) In Section B - Questions No. 11 to 15 are very short answer (VSA) type questions, carrying 2 marks each.

(vi) In Section D - Questions No. 18 to 19 are long answer (LA) type questions carrying 5 marks each.
(vii) In Section E - Questions No. 20 is case study-based questions carrying 4 marks. Internal choice is provided in 2

20. A company has a locker in which valuable documents are kept. The passcode is a
four-digit number of the form “xyyx”. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the
Vice President (VP) of the company have each been given a clue, the passcode that
opens the locker can be found.

CEO’s clue: When twice the one’s digit is subtracted from ten’s digit, the result is 1.
VP’s clue: Three more than the ten’s digit is thrice the one’s digit.
Based on the above information, answer the following questions.
(i) Find the equation that can be formed from the CEO’s clue. 1
(ii) Find the equation that can be formed from the VP’s clue. 1
(iii) Find the passcode.
