2. Crochet hook No. 1.75 - No. 2
3. 2 buttons - 20 mm in diameter;
4. A needle for sewing the parts of the toy and a long needle for tightening
the muzzle (I take a needle that is used for stitching documents);
5. 12 mm safety eyes;
6. Filling for the toy (I have holofiber).
7. Scissors.

If you follow all the instructions precisely, you’ ll get 25-26 cm (~10
inches) height toy.

Attention! The height of the toy greatly depends on the density of the knitting.
I knit quite loosely, so I use a smaller hook (No1.75). In addition, I fill all the
parts with holofiber very tightly so that the toy better holds its shape. If your
knitting density is high, it is better to take a slightly larger hook (№2-2.25).

Fold the arm into two halves and work 6 sc through the both sides. Fill the arms
tightly to the middle.

We return to the 4th row. Insert the hook into the front loops (as indicated in
the photo), make 1 ch, continue to knit the front loops, 1 sc in each loop.
Total 15 sc. We make a slst, cut the thread and use a needle to hide it inside
the arm.

14-20) 14 sc – 7 rows and work additionally 3 more sc (shifted stitches).
This is necessary so that the place where the thread is changed ends up
behind the leg.
Fold the arm into two halves and work 7 sc through the both sides.
We fill the legs tightly up to the 16th row.

We return to row 5. Insert the hook into the front half-loops (as indicated in the
photo), make 1 ch, continue to knit the half-loops, 1 sc in each half-loop.
Total 21 sc.
We make a slst, cut the thread and use a needle to hide the ends inside.

5) (3 sc, dec) x 3 (12)
6) 5 dec, 2 sc, change the thread to a different color yarn
7-9) 7 sc – 3 rows.
Don't stuff the horns.
Make a slst, cut the thread, leave the tail for sewing.

9
Ears (consist of two parts)

Inner ear part (2 pieces)

1) 6 sc in mr;
2) 6 inc (12), slst
3) (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18), slst. Cut the thread.

Outer part of the ear:

1) 6 sc in mr;
2) 6 inc (12)
3) (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
We don’t cut the thread, we put the inner and outer parts together and continue
knitting both parts:
4) (2 sc, inc) x 2, 2 sc, 3 dc in one loop, 2 sc, (2 sc, inc) x 2, 1 sc (24), slst.
Make the second ear in the same way.
Cut the thread, fold the ear into two halves and sew it with a needle making 2-3
stitches through the both sides. Then pull this thread into the center of the ear with
a needle. This way it will be more convenient to sew the ear to the head.

10
11
Muzzle

1) 7 ch
2) Work along the chain, starting from the 2nd loop from the hook:
inc, 4 sc, 3 sc in one loop, 5 sc (14)
3) 2 inc, 4 inc, 3 inc, 4 inc, inc (20)
4) (4 sc, inc) x 4 (24)
5) (5 sc, inc) x 4 (28)
6) 28 sc, slst. Cut the thread and leave enough for sewing.

How to assemble the toy

1. Sew the head to the body.

I sew them together stitch into stitch (21 stitches).
Important! Stuff the area of the neck tightly in the process of sewing.

12
2. Tightening of the eyes

The tightening of the eyes is the same for all of my toys. So, if you have
my crochet patterns, make the same actions as it is explained there.
Consists of two stages:
Tighten the eyes down. For tightening the eyes, I take a long needle.
Insert the long thread of the body colour into this needle.
1. Insert the needle into the middle of the neck, draw it out at the center of
the outer part of the first eye;
2. Insert the needle into the center of the inner part of this eye, draw it out
at the middle of the neck where it was inserted at the start;
3. There will be a loop, tighten it;
4. Insert the needle with the same thread into the middle of the neck slightly
to the right (1sc) from the point where it was first inserted. Draw it out at the
centre of the outer part of the second eye;
5. Insert the needle into the center of the inner part of the second eye, draw it
out at the neck again. There will be a loop, tighten it;
6. Pull one end of the thread, then pull the other one. If the eyes are not
symmetrical fix them by hand.

13
You can leave the tightening at this stage. But I prefer to make the 2nd
stage as well, I tighten the eyes to the center. Keep working with the same thread:
1. Insert the needle into the middle of the neck, draw it out at the center of
the upper part of the first eye.
2. Insert the needle into the center of the lower part of this eye, draw it out
at the middle of the neck again. There will be a loop, tighten it from the muzzle’s side.
3. Make the same actions with the second eye.
Thus, the eyes are set deep and beautiful cheeks are formed.
Tie the ends of the threads that are left after the tightening of the eyes together, cut
them and hide them into the head.

14
3. Sew the muzzle to the head at the level of Rows 18-24.
Stuff with fiberfill in the process.

15
4. We embroider the nostrils at the 4th row of the head. To do this, we make a stitch
on one side, tighten the needle, insert the needle symmetrically and make a stitch on
the other side. Again we return the needle and thread to the place of the first stitch,
make a second stitch there (on top of the first), and do the same thing symmetrically.
So 3 stitches on each side.

5. We embroider the whites of the eyes, eyelashes, eyebrows at the 13th row
of the head, cheeks between the 20th and 21st rows of the head.

16
6. Sew the horns to the head at the level of Row4-5.

7. Sew on the ears at the 9th and 10th rows of the head. If you are knitting a girl,
then sew the ears at an angle at the 13th row level.

8. Sew the spots on. To do this, make 4 spots: 8 sc in mr.

If you are knitting a girl, you first need to sew the hair band in two places:
where the knot is and at the back in the middle of the neck. Then you sew
the spots on. I make three spots for the girl.

17
9. Sew the arms to the body between Rows 30 and 31;

10. Sew the legs to the body between Rows 11 and 12.

18
Your giraffe is ready!

19
Overalls

1. Cast on 66 ch. Then work back and forth rows starting each row with 1 ch:
2-12) 11 rows of 66 sc each;

We do not cut the thread, go to the side edge and knit this edge with a sc.
Cut the thread and hide it.

Next, you need to try it on a giraffe. We arrange the knitting on the wrap so that
the last row of the fabric ends at the place where the legs are sewn.
On top should be the edge of the fabric that we tied with a sc.
The fabric should fit snugly on the tummy.

20
Insert the hook into the first loop where the overlap begins (see photo).

We make 2 sc behind the back loop, then continue to knit only on one side
(the back). At the beginning of 2 knitted sc we put a marker, this will be the
beginning of the row. This is how we knit 9 rows in a circle. Last row not.

21
Make 3 sc (this is necessary in order to shift the wrap to the side when we form
the trouser legs).

Attention! It took me 6 sc, that is, 60 left, so I knit 9 rows of 60 sc.

It may take you more loops to overlap
(your giraffe may be less pot-bellied) or fewer loops
(if the tummy is more stuffed with filling). Ultimately, when you knit these 9
rows in the round, you should have an EVEN number of stitches (equal for
each leg), so if you have an odd number of stitches, then make one decrease
or one increase as you knit.

22
Next, we form the pant legs (30 sts for each). Insert the hook into the 30th stitch
and knit 4 rows in a circle, slst. Don't cut the thread!
We make a turn on the pant leg and use this thread to secure it from the inside
of the pant leg so that it does not unravel.
We knit the second leg in a similar way.

23
Sew two buttons where the wrap is. I sew all the way through.

Straps (2 pieces)

Ch 34 + 1 ch. From the 2nd chain from the hook: 34 sc.

I sew the straps directly after putting the overalls on the toy, cross-wise at the
back, and hide the ends inside. In front - one strap with the tip outward, the
second - under the buttons, with the tip inward.

24
Leaves (2 pieces)

1. 6 sc in mr;
2. (1 sc, inc) x 3 (9)
3. (2 sc, inc) x 3 (12)
4. (3sc, inc) x 3 (15)
5. (4 sc, inc) x 3 (18)
6. 18 sc
7. (4 sc, dec) x 3 (15)
8. (3 sc, dec) x 3 (12)
Fold and knit along both sides. Leave the end tail for sewing.
Next, we embroider the branch and sew the leaf on both sides. Cut the thread,
leaving a long tail. We make the second leaf similarly.

Next, there are two options for strings:

1. We tie the leaves together. Make a loop around the hook from the thread that
remains (as shown in the photo below) and make 24 ch. Cut the thread and
make a knot. The second leaf is similar.

2. Hide the end of the remaining thread with a needle inside the leaf.
Separately, we make two chains of 24 ch and sew them to the leaves. Make
knots at the end. Tie the leaves together.

25
Hair Band

Ch80, start in the 2nd ch from the hook, 79 sc. I stretch it a little with my hands,
and it on my head with two knots and fasten it in two places (at the site of the
knot and at the back of the neck).

26
Flower

Using yellow yarn we knit 6 sc in mr, change the yarn to white.

We continue making:
Ch 2, (3 dc in one stitch, slst in the same stitsh) - 6 times.
If you want a more convex center, then make 6 sc in mr again with yellow
yarn and sew it into the middle of the flower. We make ties the same way as we
did on the leaves.
