The main natural resources of our country are:

1. Seas/ Oceans
2. Forests
3. Rivers and Swamps
4. Oil, Gas and Asphalt
5. Soil and Rocks
6. Coral reefs

The usefulness of our Natural resources:

1. Oceans. Seas, rivers and swamps –

 Provide us with food
 Habitat for many organisms
 Provides a means of transport for people and goods
 Provides jobs. E.g. Fisherman, tour guides

2. Forests –
 Provide us with food
 Habitat for many organisms
 Provide us with lumber
 Prevent soil erosion
 Absorb carbon dioxide and supplies oxygen

3. Oil, natural gas and asphalt -

 Fuel for our vehicles
 Used to make electricity
  Major source of revenue
 Provide jobs for people

4. Soil and Rock –

 Used to build homes
 Exported to make money for the country
 Provide jobs to money for people.

5. Coral reefs –
 Protect our coastlines
 Habitat for marine life
 Attract many tourists
 Provide jobs for many people
