II. RATIONALE
The proposal for a Joint Girl Scout and Boy Scout Encampment is rooted in the
recognition of the shared values, goals, and principles that both scouting organizations uphold.
This collaborative endeavor aims to bring together young members from Girl Scouts and Boy
Scouts, fostering a sense of unity, camaraderie, and mutual understanding through a shared
outdoor experience.
The joint encampment will offer a unique opportunity for scouts from both organizations
to share and learn outdoor skills. By participating in joint workshops and activities, scouts will
develop a deeper appreciation for nature, outdoor survival skills, and the importance of
environmental stewardship. The adventure aspect of the encampment will create memorable
experiences that go beyond gender-specific expectations.
We believe that a Joint Girl Scout and Boy Scout Encampment will not only create
lasting memories for participating scouts but also strengthen the bonds between the two
organizations. We are excited about the prospect of collaboration and appreciate your support in
making this event a success.
III. OBJECTIVES:

 Promotion of Collaboration: It aims to foster collaboration and teamwork between

male and female scouts, promoting mutual understanding, respect, and camaraderie
among them.

 Skill Development: The encampment provides opportunities for scouts to learn and
develop a diverse range of skills, including camping, outdoor survival, first aid,
leadership, and teamwork, which are essential for their personal growth and
development.
 Cultural Exchange: It facilitates cultural exchange between different scout groups,
allowing scouts to learn about and appreciate the diversity of cultures, traditions, and
backgrounds represented within the scouting community.
 Promotion of Gender Equality: By bringing together male and female scouts in a
joint encampment, it promotes gender equality and breaks down gender stereotypes,
empowering both boys and girls to participate equally in outdoor activities and
leadership roles.
 Community Engagement: The encampment may also involve community service
projects or activities aimed at contributing positively to the local community,
instilling a sense of civic responsibility and service among the scouts.
 Celebration of Scouting Values: It provides a platform for scouts to celebrate and
uphold the core values of scouting, such as honesty, integrity, respect for others, and
service to the community, reinforcing these principles through practical experiences
