CPGOS03-0490v2_Configuration-Manual
The GPON ONU SFP CPGOS03-0490 is a high-performance module for single fiber communications using a 1310nm burst-mode transmitter and a 1490nm
continuous-mode receiver. It used like an optical network terminal (ONT) for GPON ONU Class B+ applications with Mac inside.
The Transmitter is designed for single mode fiber and operates at a nominal wavelength of 1310nm. The transmitter module uses a DFB laser diode with
full IEC825 and CDRH class 1 eye safety.
The Receiver section uses a hermetic packaged APD-TIA (APD with trans-impedance amplifier) and a limiting amplifier. The APD converts optical power into
electrical current and the current is transformed to voltage by the trans-impedance amplifier. The differential “DATA” and “DATA CML” data signals are produced
by the limiting amplifier.
An enhanced Digital Diagnostic Monitoring Interface has been incorporated into the transceivers. It allows real time access to the transceiver operating
parameters such as transceiver temperature, laser bias current, burst mode, transmitted optical power, received optical power and transceiver supply voltage by
reading a built-in memory with I2C interface.

The GPON ONU SFP in a complete ONU device than have a more complex hardware that a normal SFP transceiver, this device exposes to the internal network
(SFP side) a WebUI and a Telnet service to can be configured manually, it have a preconfigured IP over the SFP Interface side, for that reason this is a “GPON
ONU with MAC”, Others models of GPON ONUs “without mac” cannot be configured manually and only support the Auto-discover/OMCI provisioning.
The default IP address of the GPON ONU SFP is: 192.168.1.1 with netmask: 255.255.255.0
Depending on how you will connect the GPON ONU SFP into your network infrastructure (Media Converter, directly to the Router or Switch, Network Card, etc)
you will need to configure in the host a different IP address in the same network segment, E.g: 192.168.1.2/24 to avoid collision with the default IP address of the
GPON ONU SFP, after that you will able to reach the IP of the GPON ONU SFP.
Note: The default IP of the GPON ONU SFP can be changed after through WebUI or Telnet.
Apart of the physical connection setup to configure your GPON ONU SFP, you will need to know what is the default authentication method used by the OLT of
your ISP and what are the required values to accomplish the authentication.
Note: The SN is 8 bytes long, the first 4 bytes identify the Manufacturer and the other 4 bytes identify the ONT itself. If the SN displayed in you’re ONT/HGU
contains 16 Characters (is in Hex Mode), please convert only the first 4 bytes into ASCII and left the rest bytes as the same. That is the correct format that you
should use when you go to configure the SN in the GPON ONU SFP (ASCII Mode).
When you will configure the ONT password value in “HEX Mode” into the GPON ONU SFP you only need to write the 10 pairs of Hexadecimal (20 characters)
excluding the prefix “0x” or in case that the ONT Password is on ASCII mode you only need to write the 10 ASCII characters. The GPON ONU SFP will knows if
the ONT Password is in HEX Mode or in ASCII Mode depending on the length of the string that you entered on the parameter configuration.
Note: None other parameter needs to be changed to accomplish the authentication process and establish communication between the GPON ONU SFP and the
OLT.
1- Please connect the GPON ONU SFP to your network device (Media Converter, Router or Switch, Network Card, etc) and wait 1~2 minutes to complete
the initialization/booting process.
3- Login with the User/Password: cpAdmin / cpAdmin (Full config access) or cpUser / cpUser (only for monitoring status)
1- From your Web browser access to the default IP address of the GPON ONU SFP: 192.168.1.1 and login using the User/Password mentioned on the
“Method 1: Configure via Web”
Note: This command set the value and retrieves again the value configured after pressing Enter key, this makes easier to validate what is the value
saved. You can check the values with the parameter “get” instead of “set”.
4- After reboot you can check the ONU connection state executing the following commands:
diag
gpon get onu-state
Even if you want to reset the configurations via telnet you can execute the follow command:
flash default cs (To reset configuration settings)
flash default hs (To reset all settings)
Note: after reset settings you need to reboot the GPON ONU SFP to the changes take effect.
The user password can be changed via Telnet executing the follow commands:
flash set SUSER_PASSWORD new_password
reboot
