AC 110
Two-component epoxy universal primer
1. Applications
AC 110 is a solvent-free, moisture-tolerant, transparent, 2-component epoxy resin with low
viscosity, penetrates even the finest pores and capillaries at low temperatures and excellent
adhesion properties on a wide range of substrates.
2. Substance data*
Through-hardened [d] 10 7 3
5. Preparation/processing
Substrate condition
Substrates must be firm, dry, fine-grip and load bearing, free of cement glue layers, loose and crumbly parts as
well as separating substances such as oil, grease, rubber abrasion, paint residues or the like. Substrate pre-
treatment is usually required, such as sand, spherical, high-pressure water jets, milling or grinding. After
substrate pre-treatment, the tear-off strength of the substrate must be at least 1.5 N/mm². The concrete
moisture content at the surface must not exceed 4 %. The temperature of the substrate must be at least 3 °C
above the prevailing dew point temperature.
The prepared surfaces must be primed full and non-porous. To ensure freedom from pores, a scratch filler may
be necessary. If necessary, special advice should be obtained.
It is recommended to use AC 600 as a pre-treatment for cleaning impure surfaces. After cleaning, the surface
should dry completely before applying AC 110.
Mixing
The resin (A) and hardener (B) components are supplied in the correct mixing ratio. Pour the hardener
into the resin component and ensure that the hardener component runs out completely. Then stir the
total mixture with a mechanical stirrer at a maximum of 300 rpm. (slow-running drill with stirring
paddle). It is essential that the mixture is also thoroughly stirred from the bottom and sides so that the
hardener is also distributed in a vertical direction. Stir until the mixture is homogeneous (free of
streaks); mixing time is approx. 3 minutes. The material temperature should be approx. +15°C during
the mixing process.
Do not process the mixed material from the delivery container! The compound must be poured into a
clean container and carefully stirred again.
The product can be applied directly to the prepared substrate with a rubber lip pusher, short or medium
pile brush.
Consumption may vary depending on the roughness and porosity of the substrate, in general it varies
between approx. 300 - 400 g/m² on smooth surfaces and approx. 500 - 800 g/m² on rough substrates.
For scattered surfaces (slip resistance), approx. 500 g/m² of AC 110 primer must be applied.
In combination with AC 130 R, at least 400 g/m² of AC 110 primer must be applied.
Processing information
When processing reactive plastics, the temperature of the substrate is of particular importance, in addition
to the ambient temperature. At low temperatures, the chemical reactions are generally delayed; this also
extends the processing, recoatability, walkability and through-curing times. At the same time, the higher
viscosity increases consumption. At high temperatures, the chemical reactions are accelerated, so that the
above-mentioned times are reduced accordingly. For complete curing of the reactive resin, the average
temperature of the substrate must be above the minimum temperature.
When used outdoors, ensure that the material is protected from moisture for a sufficiently long time after
application. If the surface is exposed to moisture too soon, a white discoloration and/or tackiness may occur
which may considerably impair the bond to the subsequent coating and may therefore have to be removed,
e.g. by sandblasting. The material present under this layer cures perfectly.
After the waiting times described above, work can continue with any solvent-free coating system.
Within this time, an intermediate sprinkling with quartz sand is required. Dirt and cement slurry must be
thoroughly removed beforehand.
Cleaning: After each operation, carefully clean the equipment and tools with thinner.
6. Safety instructions
BG regulation 227 "Activities involving epoxy resins", BG bulletin M 004 "Irritant substances -
Corrosive substances" must be observed.
Before starting processing, it is therefore necessary to obtain information on precautions and safety
advice from the safety data sheets.
7. Storage
At least six months after delivery or twelve months after production in dry storage between 10°C and 30°C.
Information about the minimum shelf life is provided by the batch number on the container. When using
products stored for a longer period, it is generally recommended that F. Willich GmbH + Co. KG checks whether
the product specification still exists before using this product.
9. Disposal
In Germany, empty packaging can be taken back by the KBS and Interseroh system for steel or plastic
packaging.
Further information about the place and the further modalities of the return can be found on the
website of the recycling partner acting on our behalf:
Reacted product residues can be disposed of in small quantities as household waste or in larger
quantities than EAK 17 02 03 plastic or in accordance with local regulations.
Liquid product residues can be disposed of as EAK 08 01 11 paint and varnish waste containing
organic solvents or other hazardous substances.
Our application-related recommendations, which we give to support the buyers or processors on the basis
of our experience to the best of our knowledge according to the current state of knowledge in
practice and science , are non-binding and do not justify an agreed quality.
