AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE[WLT-2]

Using PDS/IDS
1. Connect the PDS/IDS to the DLC.
2. After the vehicle is identified, select the following DLC
items from the initial screen of the PDS/IDS.
x When using the IDS (notebook PC)
1. Select the “Toolbox” tab.
2. Select “SelfTest”.
3. Select “Module”.
4. Select “PCM”.
x When using the PDS (pocket PC)
1. Select “Module Tests”.
2. Select “PCM”.
3. Select “SelfTest”.
3. Verify the DTC according to the directions on the
PDS/IDS screen.
4. Press the clear button on the DTC screen to clear
the DTC.
5. Verify that no DTCs are displayed.

Not Using PDS/IDS


1. After repairs, disconnect the negative battery cable for at least 20 s, and depress the brake pedal. Reconnect
the negative battery cable.

Note
x If the engine will not start, keep the starter operated for 5—6 s.

2. Warm up the engine to normal operation temperature.


3. Perform “DTCs Retrieving Procedure”, then verify that there in no DTC present. (See 01-02F-3 ON-BOARD
DIAGNOSTIC TEST[WLT-2].)
x If a DTC is present, perform the applicable DTC inspection. (See 01-02F-6 DTC TABLE[WLT-2].)

Using voltmeter
1. Turn the engine switch off.

Caution
x Connecting the wrong DLC terminals may possibly cause a malfunction. Carefully connect the
specified terminals only.

2. Short the DLC terminal TEN to body ground using


a jumper wire. DLC

3. Connect the negative lead of voltmeter (20 V

range) to the DLC terminal FEN, and positive lead WIRE
to the DLC terminal B+.
4. Turn the engine switch to the ON position.
(Engine off)

5. The voltmeter indicates the battery positive
voltage for approx. 3 s, then indicates 0 V. GND

voltmeter’s needle. 0 1 0 5 A: Approx. 1.2 sec.

Using glow indicator light
1. Turn the engine switch off.

Caution
x Connecting the wrong DLC terminals may possibly cause a malfunction. Carefully connect the
specified terminals only.

2. Short the DLC terminal TEN to body ground using

3. Turn the engine switch to the ON position.

4. The glow indicator light illuminates for approx. 3 s, then goes off.

x When the customer reports a vehicle malfunction, check the warning light indication and diagnostic trouble
code (DTC), then diagnose the malfunction according to following flowchart.
— If the DTC exists, diagnose the applicable DTC inspection. (See 01-02F-6 DTC TABLE[WLT-2].)
— If the DTC does not exist and the warning light does not illuminate, diagnose the applicable symptom
troubleshooting.

DTCs Reading Procedure
Using PDS/IDS
1. Connect the PDS/IDS to the DLC.
2. After the vehicle is identified, select the following DLC
items from the initial screen of the PDS/IDS.
x When using the IDS (notebook PC)
1. Select the “Toolbox” tab.
2. Select “SelfTest”.
3. Select “Module”.
4. Select “PCM”.
x When using the PDS (pocket PC)
1. Select “Module Tests”.
2. Select “PCM”.
3. Select “SelfTest”.
3. Then, select the “Retrieve CMDTCs” and perform
procedures according to directions on the PDS/
IDS screen.
4. Verify the DTC according to the directions on the
PDS/IDS screen.
x If any DTCs are displayed, perform absggw00000427
troubleshooting according to the
corresponding DTC inspection.
5. After completion of repairs, clear all DTCs stored in the PCM, while referring to “AFTER REPAIR
PROCEDURE“.
