1 INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this pre-design or draft version is to indicate the concept of system architecture,
process control, instrument, monitoring parameters, alarm in HMI. The functional design reviews are
essential to provide assurance that deliverable equipment and system being developed will meet the
requirements and design intent of the customer are understood by the development team. These reviews
provide a major input to the verification and validation processes for projects.
Prototyping is a user centric design approach which makes it possible for the end users to visualize
the system, even before it is being built, and provides a mechanism to validate requirements in earlier stages.
Prototypes will also serve to provide screen shots which can be inserted into the Use Case and/or User
Interface/Screen Design Documents.

2 PROJECT OBJECTIVE
The objective of this project is to install PLC based control systems and HMI for
controlling and monitoring of raw intake pumping station at Koh Norea Intake Pumping
Station. The scope of work includes:
- Design, testing and commissioning of PLC based control system for raw water
pump station
- The HMI interfaces include (Overview of Intake Pump Station, Intake Pumping
Station, Electrical System, PLC and network, Alarm, Trends, Report, …)

5 Scope of work in the project
The proposed architecture has Schneider M580 based PLC controllers in main control
panel (PLC-1201) with remote IO in PLC Remote IO panels mentioned in architecture. Panel
mounted HMI on PLC-1201 panel and Remote IO panel is controlling and monitoring in
locally. The HMI interface proposed is based on control system in the project. Our scope
includes the following:

• Software development
• HMI engineering
• As build drawing
• Design HMI system for control and monitoring
• On site testing and commissioning for control panels
• Training the interface for operator

7 System Architecture & Networks Topology configuration

Network topology defines how the PLCs communicate with each other and other
devices within the industrial network. While configuring a network for PLC programs, we
have considered the following parameters:

• IP addresses subnet masks, and gateway configurations for devices

• Communication protocol
