background for the narration of the exciting plot. Just the notion of treasure and
pirates might give a wrong direction, but in the background there is a story of growing
up. The initial journey of Jim Hawkins on a life-threatening voyage upon the sea may
seemed similar to the challenging experience that students like me often face at the
academic institutions.
academically, the thrill and worry in during first day of school and at the end the
school year which where we’ll know if we passed or not. The pressure of failing is
there, along with other factors outside the school. The Hispaniola in the story
represents how the multiracial and multicultural crew is, and perhaps the conflicts
that many students come across when there are big variations among one another.
Jim, is just like me here in school, I starts the voyage with understanding deception
and fakeness among the pirates, from peers to professors to determine if they are
and the social structures in human relation in order to survive college. Thus, the
quest for treasure in the story serves as an allegory for knowledge. As Jim's voyage
to seek treasured riches which lie in difficult terrains is much similar to me that has to
undergo heavy study to fulfill academic goals, the latter too must endure perilous
coursework and difficult tests. I have faced difficult things already and I understand
that one also needs to get rid of something, to do something new, and have a desire
for your own development. Nevertheless, the lost gold, remains only physical
bonuses for Jim and me, and the real prize of the adventure lies in the experience,
the drawn conclusions and the person they each grow up to be at the end of their
journey.
