Letter of Recommendation

1. How long have you known the applicant and in what relationship?

I have known Ms. Monita since 2011. I am a lecturer and head of computer science education department at Indonesia
University of Education. She has been a student of my class in multimedia engineering course.

2. What do you consider to be the applicant’s strengths?

When she was a student in the course taught by me, I have always observed her as hard-working and diligent student. Her
eagerness to learn made her participate actively in the classroom. She always enthusiastic in improving her knowledge and
always do the best in her study. Her self-motivated and enthusiastic personality makes her outstanding from other students.
I believe that she is a student with excellent grades resulting from diligent and hard-working habits.

3. What do you consider to be the applicant’s weaknesses?

Her skill in multimedia engineering quite average than other students when she was enrolled in my class. However, that
does not reduce her enthusiasm in learning my course. She did her best to improve her skill by actively asked the lecturer
or her peers when she did not understand the lesson. Because of all her efforts, she was able to conduct an undergraduate
thesis about learning multimedia and accomplish her undergraduate diploma for four years and three months with excellent
academic record.

4. How well do you think the applicant has thought out plans for graduate study?

Before she finished her bachelor’s degree last year, she has often met me to discuss his plans to continue her study abroad.
She told me that she is interested in pursuing master’s degree abroad through KGSP. So she asked me to write a letter of
recommendation for applying the scholarship. Unfortunately, last year she did not pass the scholarship selection. However,
she did not discouraged or give up and decided to apply again this year. Seeing her effort and hard work in preparing for
this scholarship since last year made me realize how eager and serious she was in planning her graduate study. I believe that
she would be an excellent candidate for this scholarship program.

5. Please comment on the applicant’s performance record, potential, or personal qualities which you believe would be helpful
in considering the applicant’s application for the proposed degree program.

I evaluate Ms. Monita as diligent, self-motivated, intelligent and hard-working person, who is keen to achieve her goals.
She has consistently shown such a strong desire to learn that makes me impressed. Her efforts, diligence and capability
makes her have excellent academic performance. I believe that she will continue her success in Graduate Programs as well.
I strongly recommend her for your Master Program.

lecturer, I also work as a head of computer science education department at Indonesia University of Education, Bandung in
which Ms. Monita studied.

During the class, I found her as a hard-working and diligent student. She was also an active and enthusiastic student who
always has a great curiosity to learn and to improve her knowledge. Her personalities and habits ma ke her become an
outstanding student who always achieves excellent grades in every course. Her efforts to achieve the grades can be seen
through her works, in which she always gives her best to finish the assignments and focuses on her study. Based on what
she has done for her study, I believe that she deserves to apply this scholarship.

3. What do you consider to be the applicant’s weaknesses?

When she was enrolled in my class, she faced difficulty in multimedia engineering course. It could be said that she was not
good enough in multimedia skill. However, her enthusiasm and courage to learn help her improving multimedia
engineering skill. Besides, she always asked her lecturer and other students to teach and guide her multimedia engineering
course. Through her efforts, she was finally able to conduct an undergraduate thesis which is known as skripsi about
learning multimedia. She also accomplished her four-year diploma with excellent academic record.
