Activities to do in teaching the topic: Materials Needed:


Lesson 1: Counting to 10
 The teacher will draw 3 bunches of soft ● Math Book
toys. The teacher will then show bunches ● Paper
that are different from those in the picture. ● Flashcards
Then, ask:
 Q1: why they are different?
 Q2: How many soft toys do you have?
 Q3: What types of soft toys do you have?
 The teacher will then present and discuss
the topic.
 The students will do the activity “Count
and Match!”

Lesson 2: Comparing Objects and Numbers


 The teacher will provide narrative stories
about the two shops --- The Surf Shop and
The Beach Shop. Then, the teacher will
ask the students the following questions:
 Q1: Which shops sells more hats?
 Q2: Which shop sells fewer hats?
 Q3: Why do you think Paul wants to buy
the hats from Surf Shop?
 The teacher will then present and discuss
the topic.
 The students will do the activity “Greater
or Smaller”

Lesson 3: Making Number Patterns


 The teacher will provide story picture:
“The train has 3 empty seats. There are
fewer than 10 people in the queue.”
 The teacher will then ask the students:
Q1: How many people are riding the train
now?
Q2: How many people in the queue
cannot take the ride?
Q3: Are there more people riding the train
or waiting?
 The teacher will then present and discuss
the topic.
 The students will do the activity “1 more
or 1 less”

Written works: Oral works:


 Answer activities on the book  Students will verbally count from 1 to 10
accurately and fluently.

Performance Task 1: With the parent’s assistance, guide the child to collect objects at home to show
numbers to 10. Ask him or her to count the objects, then write the numbers and words in your Math
Notebook. Video your child when doing this activity.

questions. Then, the teacher will ask the
students how do they find the answer?
Then, will also the ask the following
questions:
Q1: How many girls are there?
Q2: How many boys are there?
 The teacher will learn the taking away
stories:
“Adil has 6 fruit tarts. He eats 1 fruit tart.”
6–1=5
Adil has 5 fruit tarts left.

“There are 9 birds. Some birds fly away. 2


birds are left.”
9–2=7
7 birds fly away.

 The teacher will provide a story picture.


“How many of us are playing hide-and-
seek?
Some are hiding!
There are fewer than 10 children playing
hide-and-seek.”

many children are hiding?

Performance Task 2: Ask the child to make subtraction stories involving everyday situations around the
home. For example, “There are 6 dirty bowls. I wash 2 bowls. 4 dirty bowls are left.”
