CRITERIA FOR EVALUTION

Time: student or group of student is given 15-20 minutes to present each topic 10

Ability to answer question: the presenter must answer at least 2 questions from
each topic knowledgeably and with confidence 10

Content: write up must be submitted every Wednesday before 12 NN only, late


requirement will have 10 percent demerit of the student’s total performance.
Topics to include:
1. Definition and introduction (include types, important information
pertaining to the disorder)
2. Causes and risk factors
3. Schematic flow of the disease (pathophysiology)
-connect risk factors (precipitating and predisposing) medical
(pharmacologic and surgical) and nursing management, signs and
symptoms, 5 prioritized NCPs
-indicate legend
4. Signs and symptoms
5. 5 prioritized NCP’s with etiologies taken from the pathophysiology, with
at least 3 independent and 3 dependent intervention for each.
6. Pharmacologic management
7. Surgical and other special procedures if any
8. Scientific Update/Journal of the said disorder with separate reference.
9. References in an APA format at least 5 and within the last 5 years in 40
recency.
Note: lacking topics will have an INC grade in your Course/Subject
Paper format:
1. Size: Long
2. Style: Arial
3. Font size: 12
4. 1 inch margins on all sides
5. Cover page: follow cover page format of case presentation manuscript
6. Neatly and securely stapled.
Main Reference: Silbert-Flag, Materal and Child Health Nursing, Care of the
Childbearing Family, 9th edition.
Topics must be informative, comprehensive and up to date (recency or newness
of references must be within the last 5 years) utilizing at least 5 sources from
textbooks, scientific journals or internet
Understanding and Mastery: the student must be able to show knowledge and 10
skills that facilitate other’s learning.
Presentation: presenter must prepare at least 10-15 slides per topic, information
must be in BULLET FORM and must follow STRICT SUMMARIZATION OF
INFORMATION (NO LENGTHY PARAGRAPHS IN THE SLIDES). EXPOUND
THE KNOWLEDGEABLY. TALK TO THE AUDIENCE AND NOT ON THE
SLIDES.

Reporter is encouraged to use props/make-up/costume to portray specific
assigned topic for better identification and familiarization of the disease.

Slides must be visual and must aid learning, must use appropriate teaching
strategy to enhance the teaching-learning process and ensure active participation
of audience.
