TITLE 2023 SCHOOL-BASED MID YEAR IN-SERVICE TRAINING (INSET)
Pursuant to DepEd Order (DO) No. 001, s. 2020 titled Guidelines for NEAP
Recognition of Professional Development Programs and Courses for Teachers and School Leaders, the
Department of Education (DepEd), through the National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP), issues
the DepEd Professional Development (PD) Priorities for Teachers and School Leaders for SY 2020-2023.
The three-year PD Priorities shall adhere to the provisions defined in Item VI, Nos. 16-18 of DO 001, s. 2020.
Among others, the policy states that PD Priorities shall allow flexibility for specific local needs, priorities, and

Rationale emerging developments in teacher and school leader professional development.
Facilitating professional training and learning opportunities is one of the roles of teacher leader. If learning is
shared from one teacher to another, teacher can directly focus on the improvement of learners learning.
Teachers have different teaching and learning needs that addressed through trainings and workshops. In-
Service Training (INSET) conducted in schools improves teaching methods, classroom management, professional
growth and development, and knowledge and skills towards the upliftment of DepEd orders that pertains to
professional development of teachers.
In-service training for teachers is conducted in order to refresh, to reload and to upgrade teachers with necessary
knowledge and skills to respond to the learners’ needs and demand in the 21st century education timely and adaptive.
This year prioritizes development/enhancement of learners’ literacy and numeracy skills.
By the end of this Program, participants will be able to:
