I am writing to express my earnest interest in applying for the Kemitraan Negara Berkembang

(KNB) Scholarship Program to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. I believe that
through this scholarship, I will be able to achieve the dreams that the 4-year-old me visioned.
The effects of dreaming big at a young age come with a hefty price. The results of my vision
were the certificates that I worked hard to receive and the knowledge that my dreams are endless
and not one big dream, but small parts of everything. When reflecting on my student life, I am
proud that I have given my all regardless of the excruciating experiences I had to go through. I
have completed my International General Certificate of Secondary Education with seven
subjects: Computer Science, English as a Second Language, Mathematics, Additional
Mathematics, Information and Communication Technology, Physics, and Business Studies. My
academic journey throughout my most beautiful moments in life has made me realize my talent
for Computer Science. It has instilled in me the joy of writing programs and figuring out the
underlying mechanisms and principles behind real-world problems. My passion for Computer
Science stands unrivalled among all other subjects.
To further enhance my knowledge regarding the subject, I have completed my internship as an
instructor for Information and Communication Technology and Computer Science at a high
school. This experience has left some remarkable traces on my way of thinking and how the
complexity of the program can vary depending on the programmer. Furthermore, I have learnt to
solve various types of programs and have learnt several ways in which a program can be
executed. Every student’s way of thinking and their individual flow of the logical process are
different. My teaching experiences made it clear that it is the thinking that differentiates a
programmer from the rest of the people. By helping them execute error-free programs, it has also
progressed my thought process, as I must be in their perspective and listen to their ideas in order
for the program to work in the way each individual wishes. The internship has introduced
numerous valuable ideas in addition to my original knowledge. But I knew I could not rely solely
on my internship to strengthen my skills, so I decided to work as a freelance teacher in Computer
Science as well. The fruit of my decision has been fascinating, to say the least, as I encounter
more ideas and new levels of complexity. Being a teacher has greatly boosted my skills as a
programmer and is a great help when encountering errors by having more than one way of
writing a program.
My dreams are big, but they are not impossible to reach. I believe that I will be able to utilize
every opportunity I get to deepen my understanding of my passion. The only restriction I have is
the financial support that is necessary to support me throughout my journey. The financial
stability of my household is unpredictable due to the crisis that my home country is facing right
now. Therefore, if I were to have the honor of receiving the scholarship, I would put my blood,
sweat, and tears into doing my very best for the degree. This scholarship will open a new door
for me in advancing to a higher educational level as well as assist me in achieving my long-term
goals. Moreover, it will also give me a chance to shift my focus entirely to my education and
divert my attention from the possible financial crisis that I will go through. The Indonesian
universities’ high-quality education systems intrigued me, ultimately leading me to apply for this
scholarship.
My current objective is to give my utmost to finishing my Bachelor’s degree without feeling
anxious about external factors. My long-term goal regarding education is to finish my doctoral
by the age of 27 and to have an enjoyable career. I want to see myself working at a company that
builds a communication platform where its users can share their experiences and milestones, no
matter how insignificant they may seem, without receiving hatred or being belittled by others. I
would like to contribute to the world by allowing everyone to have their own respected opinions
that are within the range of morality and sense of humanity. A safe and protected platform where
every user is praised, motivated, appreciated, and loved is the platform I would love to contribute
to creating. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science will act as a steppingstone that I must step
onto when it comes to achieving this goal of mine. I strongly believe that in order to fulfil my
personal and career goals, receiving this Bachelor’s degree is the very first mountain that I need
to climb.
In conclusion, the road that I have travelled to be in the position that I stand today has not been
easy. Even so, I possess the inability to give up easily and not do my best. After winning every
fight that I put myself in, I have come to realize that there is no limit to where I can go above and
beyond when it comes to my personal development. I wish to have the honor of being a
scholarship student for the KNB scholarship to further pursue my dreams of creating a
community of love and ecstasy through the enrichment of culture as well as the high-quality
education the Indonesian Universities have set for themselves. With each keystroke and line of
code, I am ready to embrace the challenges ahead and seize every opportunity to fulfill my
dreams of creating a brighter future for myself and those around me. Thank you for considering
