Symptom
You want to transform your SAP ECC contract towards SAP S/4HANA or SAP S/4HANA Cloud (SAP S/4HANA Cloud Privat
Edition) and would like to understand the Full Use Equivalent (FUE) or SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Management user requirement.
This SAP Note provides a report which you can use to estimate the number of FUE and/or users that may be subject to licensing. It
helps you to get an idea of the number of licenses you would require.

Reason and Prerequisites

A foundational element of moving towards SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Management is an understanding of the correlation between
the legacy ECC OnPremise Named Users (NUL) and the respective SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Management users or Full User
Equivalent (FUE) requirements. This SAP Note delivers a report that includes a ruleset, which already provides an SAP ERP (ECC)
customer with a first estimate of the expected transformation to SAP S/4HANA Named Users (NUL) and/or Full User Equivalent
(FUE) based on the current SAP ERP (ECC) authorization assignment. It is possible to review users, roles and profiles with the
respective classification.
Prerequisites and restrictions of the report:
The underlying ruleset is based on authorization objects of the core, which are classified according to the license requirements of SAP
S/4HANA. The ruleset considers the majority of S/4HANA Enterprise Management (Core) authorizations and can therefore project
classic core usage. The numbers identified must be interpreted based on the current installation environment and might require
additional expert validation. For example the report does not differentiate between classic core use and core usage caused by “engine
use”.
Therefore it is recommended combining the tool with the SAP S/4HANA Trusted Authorization Review (STAR) service, an expert
service offered by SAP.
For this Note implementation on lower Basis releases, due to missing ALV functions, Notes 1849092 and 1886515 are to be
implemented first.
For Releases 7.00 and 7.01, please use SAP Note 3308470.

Solution
Implement correction instructions to import the ABAP report SLIM_USER_CLF_HELP into your system.
Follow the instructions in the Manual Activities to create the required DB Table (if not yet done).

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Please uninstall any previous version of this SAP Note.

If the report SLIM_USER_CLF_HELP is still available in your system as part your current Release/SP, please delete the
program SLIM_USER_CLF_HELP and all the includes SLIM_USER_CLF_HELP* before installing this SAP Note.

Create a Database Table SLIM_CLUSTER (if not yet available):

1. Go to transaction SE11
2. Enter Database table "SLIM_CLUSTER" and select Create
3. Short Description: "STAR Rulesets & Results"
- Delivery Class: "A"
- Data Browser/Table View Editing: "Display/maintenance allowed"
4. Select the tab Fields and enter the following data:
- Field: "RELID", Key = "X", Initial = "X", Data Element = "SYCHAR02"
- Field: "VERSION", Key = "X", Initial = "X", Data Element = "SYCHAR01"
- Field: "CLUSTER_ID", Key = "X", Initial = "X", Built-In Type with Data Type = "CHAR", Length = "100"
- Field: "SRTF2", Key = "X", Initial = "X", Data Element = "SYBIN4"
- Field: "CLUSTR", Key = " ", Initial = " ", Data Element = "SYBIN2"
- Field: "CLUSTD", Key = " ", Initial = " ", Built-In Type with Data Type = "LRAW", Length = "32000"
5. Select Extras -> Enhancement Category from the menu and select "Cannot be enhanced". Select Copy.
6. Select Save, enter Package = "SLIM", select Save again. Confirm the information popup.
7. Select Tab Technical Settings and enter the following data:
- Data Class = "APPL1"
- Size Category = "3"
8. Select Save and Exit.
9. Select Activate.
The required Ruleset Excel file is attached to this SAP Note.

1. Required Authorization
To execute the User Authorization Review, authorization object S_USER_GRP with Activity 03 (Display) is required.

2. Translation of Text Elements (after installing the SAP Note)

This SAP Note is delivered in English as original language. Therefore, it is recommended to use English as logon
language to execute the report.
The following steps are only required in case of other logon languages than English.

1. Go to transaction SE63
2. Select menu item Translation -> ABAP Objects -> Short Texts
3. Select object type REPT (under 00 Meta Objects)
4. Enter Object Name SLIM_USER_CLF_HELP, select Source language: EN, Target language: <user's logon language>
5. Click Edit button
6. Go through all the lines, and Copy Source Text (Shift+F2) or translate the texts into user's logon language
7. Save translations (Ctrl+S)

3. Absent Text Elements (after installing the SAP Note)

In rare cases, Note is not able to install/update texts in Customer's system.
This step is only required in case of SLIM_USER_CLF_HELP report does not have any text elements on the screen.

1. Go to transaction SE38
2. Enter program name SLIM_USER_CLF_HELP
3. Select Text Elements in the Subobjects selection
4. Click Change button
5. Insert text elements list from the attached file named SLIM_USER_CLF_HELP_Texts.xlsx
6. Save and activate your changes (Ctrl+F3)
