(COT TREATMENT) INSIDE CARGO TANK

1) The Objective:
The objective of this POR is to secure the services of a Sub-contractor capable of carrying, Apply
Pure epoxy Coating and final handover on board vessel FLAGSHIP SAGE within the planned period
as provided by the Sub-contractor on square meter basis. The total surface area is m mentioned
below

1) The Contractors Scope of Works;

Following is the planned work scope that will be used in most cases, but may be adjusted depending on
the condition of the existing coating system and area agreement with the Owner based on the actual
condition of the Tanks. A joint survey will be carried out to confirm the square meter age and locations
that will be blasted and coated. Subsequent to the joint survey, actual area, material usage will be
calculated. All work to be accomplished in line with Ship Owner specification, Paint manufacturer
Application Procedure and in accordance to ADC Quality and HSSE standard requirements. All ADC HSSE
procedures are to be strictly followed by the sub-contractor.

Statement of work:
This statement is to provide basic guidelines on the sequence of work to be followed by the
Sub- contractor .The Sub-contractor shall provide a detailed Method Statement based on the
below guidelines in order to meet all the requirements as specified in the paint manufacturer
Application Procedure
1. Prior to start of degreasing any heavy residue of Oil/Sludge if required has to clean
manually.
2. The entire tank has to be degreased and HP washed prior to start of blasting. After
completion of degreasing and washing, the surface will be inspected and if required
the whole process to be repeated until the surface is acceptable for blasting
3. Copper Slag (NIX) shall be used as blasting media. The locations in the Tanks and the area
to be blasted has to be agreed with the Owner prior to start of work. ADC Engineer shall
provide work order stating the work area, square meter and the blasting standard
required. The methodology should be agreed with the Owner prior to work
commencement.
4. Prior to start of blasting all heating coils have to protected. The Sub-contractor shall offer an
inspection of the protective covering prior to start of blasting.
5. The blasting standard required is Sa 21/2. Estimated area for blasting is around 13760
m2. After completion of blasting, the blasted surface shall be inspected for Chloride and
soluble salts as per the recommendation of the application procedure. If the Chloride
content is found to be high rewashing and re-blasting shall be done to achieve the
required Chloride levels. Post blasting it is the sub-contractor responsibility to ensure that
all the basting grit is cleared and tank made ready for painting. ODC shall provide Crane
and rigging services to assist in the removal of spent abrasives.
6. Post blasting inspection and Owner approval the contractor has to mask and protect
doors, portholes, fixtures, markings, electrical equipment and any other area that may
be deemed necessary prior to the commencement of coating.
7. Coating of the blasted area shall be based on the Owner Supplied paint specification and
paint manufacturer application procedure. The blasted area has to be air blown and
vacuum cleaned prior to painting based on the painting specification. Painting shall be by
airless spray and stripe coating using brush and roller.
8. According to the painting specification as provided by the Ship owner, 2 full coats and 2
stripe coats of SIGMA GUARD 720 is to be applied over the blasted surface.
9. Sub-contractor In-charge Engineer shall monitor the total job scope, coordinate with
ADC Engineer, Ship Owner representative, and Paint manufacturer representative. The
Sub- contractor shall adhere to the guidelines as provided by the ADC Engineer.
10. On completion of coating, remove all masking and protection. Overspray areas to
be cleaned. All stencils and markings to be reapplied as necessary.
11. The Sub-contractor QC shall be fully responsible to carry stage wise inspection and shall
offer the same to the Paint Manufacturer representative in order to proceed to the next
stage. All defects shall be rectified to the satisfaction of the Paint Manufacturer
representative prior to proceeding to the next stage. The Sub-contractor QC shall carry
out all the required testing after completion of final coat. All the required instruments
for the tests listed in the application procedure shall be provided by the sub-contractor.
12. The Sub-contractor QC shall be fully responsible for all the documentation required
during the project duration. The QC shall prepare documents for stage wise
inspections and ensure that all documents are signed off. The QC shall provide
complete a dossier with all the signed documents as part of the final handover to ADC.

2) Roles and Responsibility:


1. The Sub-contractor shall provide a detailed plan for undertaking the defined work scope. A
mobilization plan for man and equipment’s shall be provided.
2. The Sub-contractor shall be fully responsible for undertaking all the requirements as
specified in the Paint manufacturer application procedure and shall a mobilize a competent
Engi neer who shall be responsible for all production related activities and shall coordinate e
with ADC HT Management, Paint manufacturer, Ship Owner representative to ensure all
works are carried out as per the requirements of the application procedure to the
satisfaction of the Owners.
3. Provide trained, competent and experienced Tank Blasters, Tank Painters and assistant to
carry out the blasting, painting, and blasting machine operation.
4. Provide competent QC to monitor the work scope and undertake all stage wise inspec tions. The
QC shall be NACE CIP Level 2 or equivalent.
5. Provide all the required equipment is as deemed necessary to carry out the work scope
within the planned days.
6. Provide basic PPE like Cover-all with reflector band, Safety shoes, Helmet with Chin S trap,
Clear Safety Glasses.
7. Complete work and hand over based on the program as agreed with ADC.
8. Maintain record for the work done areas and attendance of the personnel involved in the
work.
9. Follow all rules and regulations as per ADC HSSE policy and procedures.
10. Provide a written request to ADC for any requirements that the Sub-contractor deem s
necessary to complete the job scope for prior approval.
11. Coordinate with ADC, Paint manufacturer representative and Ship Owner to ensure flawless
completion of work scopes.

3) Evaluation Model:

3 tanks per set.
