Description
The letter E in the designation means that the transmission has a gear selector valve with shift solenoids pf the type PWM
(Pulse Width Modulated). The shift solenoids are controlled by the V-ECU (Vehicle-ECU) and gives possibility of improved
control and comfort at the engagement of respective disc clutch (gear).
HTE202, HTE205, HTE210, HTE220 are hydromechanical four-speed transmissions (Power Shift) with torque converter, spur
gears and hydraulically controlled disc clutches, 4 forward speeds and 4 speeds in reverse.
All clutch shafts' pistons are of the single-stage type. With the engagement time being electronically controlled using a
variable signal from the V-ECU, two-stage engagement of the speed gears' pistons is not required.
The power from the engine to the wheels is transmitted hydraulically and mechanically through the transmission, via a
torque converter which adapts its output torque according to the torque demand.
The clutch drums for the different gears rotate freely on the clutch shafts. When a gear is engaged, the clutch drum that
transmits the power mechanically is connected with respective clutch shaft by the clutch discs that are hydraulically affected
at this time.
The mechanical power transmission in the transmission takes place via gears that are in constant engagement (mesh).
Control of slipping
The transmission is equipped with sensors:
SE201, engine speed (rpm)
SE402, turbine speed (rpm)
SE403, machine travel speed
SE405, transmission oil pressure
SE406, transmission oil temperature
SE413, level monitor transmission oil level
Information from these sensors gives the V-ECU the possibility to register eventual slipping in any clutch. In case of slipping,
the clutch pressure is increased to stop slipping by way of the V-ECU increasing the signal/pressure to the slipping clutch's
shift solenoid. If slipping persists, the operator will be informed of this via a warning text shown on the information display.
Engine shut-down (engine shut-down function, engine speed is reduced to 900 rpm) takes place if slipping persists for more
than 0.5 seconds, or if the transmission oil temperature is too high, the engine oil pressure is too low or when the coolant
temperature is too high.

Parking brake
The parking brake is integrated in the transmission, on the front output shaft. It is a disc brake, applied by spring force and
released by hydraulic pressure.
