HOW I FACILITATE MY LEARNING SESSION

As a trainer in EIM NC II, I will prepare the tools, equipment and learning materials. I will
set up the 9 CBT Components according to learning activities and these are the practical
work Area, computer laboratory area, contextual learning area, learning resource area,
trainer’s resource area, and quality control area. Prepare multimedia equipment like
Projector/LED TV, Audio, and Laptop. I will prepare the progress chart, achievement chart,
supplies, and materials, and the practical work area is simulated.
The events that will happen in my session, first I will explain and administer the Pre-
Training Assessment test using the self-assessment guide, Pre-TEST (quiz), collect
portfolio, and interview. I will gather the following data: Self-assessment checklist,
Learning style Questionnaire, and trainee characteristics. Discuss their current
competency, RCC/RPL. I will orient my trainees and provide all the information about EIM
NC II, I will also discuss CBT process flow, and principles of CBT. I will explain the result
of their pre-test and assign tasks according to their needs. My session is student-centered
because it focuses on performance-based output.
My methods of teaching are demonstration, individual learning using self-learning
materials, self-paced/modular, role-playing, peer teaching, and lecture/discussion using
multimedia equipment (PowerPoint and Video presentation). The choice of my learning
materials is the CBLM composed of information sheets, self-checks, job sheets, task
sheets, operation sheets, and multi media presentations. I will not change it because it is
in accordance with the TR and competency standards.
The questions I asked in this particular session are, Is it doable and achievable?
I can ensure participation from my students by giving them group activities like a
demonstration, role-playing, simulation and peer teaching.
The document I used to help me manage the class activities is the training Activity Matrix.
This maximizes the use of the different components of CBT. To monitor the performance
of my trainees, I will use the progress chart, achievement chart and TRB.
The adult learning principle I always have in my mind when I facilitate my learning session
is that adult are goal-oriented and needs immediate feedback.
The assessment tools I will use in my session are written test, demonstration, and
observation with oral questioning/demonstration with oral questioning. There is no need to
improve because it is in the assessment plan and I based it on the CBC or TR.
I will do face-to-face feedback and I start it with positive remarks, mention the areas for
improvement, use strong points and then weak points, and suggest activities for
improvement. I will only base my feedback on observable behavior. Strong points first then
weak points. I will only point out the descriptive specific behavior of my trainees.
I asked my trainees to answer program/session evaluation forms and recommend specific
areas for improvement so that I can make adjustments to my session plan, teachers'
reflection and improve on my session, particularly on my training methods/presentation,
time or nominal period and resources.
