Frontend Developer: New York Office, IIT Kanpur May ’18 - July ’18

Objective To redevelop and expand the front-end of a sponsored in-house social networking web application
Used Angular 6 as the framework and MVC architecture to redesign the login and home page components
Implementation
Collaborated with ML team using Git and Phabricator to integrate recommender systems into news feed
Impact Enhanced user experience by incorporating Angular Material design into UI as an improvement over CSS

KEY PROJECTS
Credit Card Fraud Detection | Mentored by Prof. Faiz Hamid, IME June ’19 - July ‘19
• Built a model to classify fraud and non-fraud transactions in highly class imbalanced dataset of credit card transactions
• Generated balanced data-frames using Random Undersampling (NearMiss Algorithm) and SMOTE to prevent overfitting
• Visualized the data by clustering using t-SNE, and removed extreme outliers using IQR method to improve accuracy
• Applied algorithms like Logistic Regression, SVM, Decision Tree, k-NN, and used GridSearchCV to find optimal parameters
• Plotted ROC curve and confusion matrix of all models; concluded that LR performs best under SMOTE with recall of 91.3%
Best Fitting Probability Distribution using Python | Mentored by Prof. Shivam Tripathi, CE Jan ’20 - Feb ‘20
• Utilized SciPy’s stats module to fit six probability distributions to time series data of 100 years for five different scenarios
• Checked applicability of Gaussian, Exponential, Gumbel, Gamma, Lognormal, Pearson 3 distributions and plotted histograms
• Used Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Anderson-Darling goodness of fit tests to select best PDF and estimate value at 98% CDF
Self Project | Image Description Generator using CNN-LSTM June ’20 - July ‘20

• Developed a description generator that uses image processing and NLP to generate descriptions on Flickr 8k image dataset
• Created a feature extraction module that utilises the pre-trained Xception model to transform image to a feature vector
• Used Keras tokenizer class to create vocabulary corpus of about 8000 words extracted from training set image descriptions
• Implemented a CNN-LSTM model consisting of feature extractor, sequence processor, and decoder to generate final output
