Self-Project | Credit Card Fraud Detection May’20 - June’20
Objective  Built a model to classify fraud transactions dealing with high class imbalanced dataset containing credit card transactions data.
 Used various tools in Python for visualization and pre-processing of a high-class imbalanced dataset containing transactions data.
 Performed various techniques like Random Undersampling, Near-Miss Algorithm, and SMOTE to handle class imbalance.
Project
 Applied various statistical and ML algorithms like Logistic Regression, SVM, KNN, achieving classification accuracy up to ~93%.
 Compared different models based on their F1 score and Confusion matrix and plotted their ROC Curves and Learning Curves.
Portfolio Optimization (Data Science in Finance) June’19 - July’19
Finance Discussion Group, Science and Technology Council, IIT Kanpur
Objective  Predicting stock prices based on historical data and build minimum variance portfolio.
 Used Modern portfolio theory to get the optimal weights for maximum Sharpe ratio and minimum variance portfolio.
 Applied PCA for dimensionality reduction and gradient boosting for feature selection.
Project
 Generated optimal weights for a group of assets from given historical information and features using various ML models.
 Achieved R2 score of 0.92 using Multi-linear Regression and 0.78 using XGBoost in predicting stock prices.
Surveying and Topographical Mapping Aug’19 - Nov’19
Mentor – Prof. Onkar Dixit and Dr. Balaji Devaraju, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Kanpur CE331A (Geoinformatics)
Objective  To prepare a topographic map of Library and L20 Ground using QGIS software and basic surveying techniques.
 Used GNSS, Total station, AutoLevel etc. to capture local features, local coordinates and global coordinates according to UTM.
Project
 Preparation of map using QGIS software having suitable scale, sign conventions and essential map elements.
Analysis of Arch Bridge Feb’19 - Mar’19
Mentor – Prof. Durgesh C Rai, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Kanpur CE272A (Structural Analysis)
Objective  To conduct analysis of a model Arch Bridge using commercial structural software SAP2000.
 Drew comparisons between model and experimental force data from 25 data channels using MS Excel.
Project
 Concluded that computational analysis is pretty accurate and sufficient for validation of experimental designs.
