The agenda for the meeting
1. Transfer of a small grant/fund to their Bank account to build their capacities
and unity.
2. What want to do by this fund
Jaldesa Wako Liban, GPDI Impact Area Manager, extended a warm welcome to all participants
and made an introductory remark. He acknowledged the Arga Dhagetti elders are those
who have organised to promote indigenous culture as well as educate youth on
indigenous culture and values.

He also remark that Gayo Pastoral Development Initiative will support those Elders through
financial support to strengthen their unity in the promotion of Indigenous culture and
Continuous education to new generation particularly youth and transfer the funds to Arga Dhaget
elders Organized to promote Indigenous Culture in Borena Zone.

Whereas, GPDI believes that Arga dhaget Elders is the right agency to promote indigenous
Culture as well as educate youth on indigenous culture and value in the borena zone and to
transfer the funds to organized Arga dhagetti elders.;
Therefore, the GPDI hereby agrees to transfer the funds to undertake the Arga dhaget
elders to strengthen their unity in the promotion of indigenous culture and continuous education
of the youth will focus on the cultural norms, values, beliefs and marriage lineage.
Arga Dhageti Elders presented that they are committed to to promote indigenous culture and
continuous education to new generation
While GPDI will support 1.4 million birr to the ‘Arga dhaget’ Elders, there is an agreed that
these of birr will be provided in two phases.
First phase 700,000( seven hundred thousand) will be paid to the bank account of the elders.
