Are all crew members aware of use of LSA and FFA such as BA sets, fire extinguishers, emergency
stops, fixed firefighting system, immersion suits, etc. and their duties as per SSP?
16:50-Simulated, vessel experiencing heavy weather. Vessel was continuously pounding and Pitching. Forward
Bosun store high level alarm activated on the bridge. Duty Officer raised the Emergency alarm and called the
Master. Vessel’s position fixed. EML-07 activated.
16:52-Crew mustered, Head count taken and crew was briefed about the situation. Master assessed weather and
altered course. Vessel was brought to Manoeuvring on reverse. VHF ST on ch 16/70
16:54-Electrical power supply stopped in area. Vessel’s stability calculated by CH/OFF
16:56-Three-man team sent to BOSUN (FORECASTLE) Store by using all appropriate PPE for safe access and
inspecting Forward store.
17:00- Reported by emergency team that the STBD anchor fluke had breached the ships side hull and water was
entering the store.
17:04-Relevant authorities were notified(simulated). Commenced pumping out of water from FPK Ballast tank
(simulated). Vessel proceeding to a port of refuge for repairs.
17:08- de-berried completed. Emphasized the importance of strict adherence of appropriate emergency procedures
17: 15- Drill completed
Remarks
Drill carried out satisfactorily.
