MEMORY POWER
Maharishi Patanjali has written that “Abubgutha Asama Pramosh Smriti” means the
information that remains for a longer time with us by experiential way is called Memory
Power. Memorisation is the awareness and organising the information gathered through the
environment that we are surrounded with, and the experience of activities that takes place
in the surroundings. In social life a good memory power is a way to better relationship,
appreciation and fame. It becomes the tool for personal victory and one becomes contended.
In your professional life it becomes important to remember names of Customers, reality and
to remember past events, that helps to win over competition.
Anyone can have a strong memory, it has nothing to do with IQ. You have to give sometime
and should be ready to practice the techniques. For once you start with the process and
techniques of memorisation and soon you will be surprised to see how simple and natural it
is to achieve the strong memory power.
If in case you have bought the Memory manual with the expectation that it will have
technical jargons to learn how to memorise faster and for life, you will be disappointed. I’ve
tried to explain you the techniques through this manual in a same fashion as if I am sitting
in your Living room and explaining you one to one.
We have avoided technicalities and used simple language. We are a team of entertainer,
motivator and memory trainer. I’m not a psychologist or a doctor. All the techniques and
tools given in the workbook are personally being applied by me and that gives me a right to
train you on these techniques.
We hardly use a percentage of our memory. Generally its 1%-10%. I feel if you follow these
tools and techniques, it will train you to use your memory much better. After this training
surely you will be able to achieve greater heights in life.
In this manual, the techniques and tools will show you that to memorise anything, how
simple and active mind integration with thought process and principal are being used in
which name, item, things, shapes, realities, speeches, foreign language can be learnt easily
and it includes all.
MECHANISM OF MEMORY

To register (With Five Senses)

(Conscious Mind)
1. To See
2. To Hear
3. To Touch
4. To Smell
5. To Taste

To Store
(Conscious Mind)

To Recall
(Sub Conscious Mind)

There exists no bad memory or good memory. Only trained or untrained memory exists.
Your memory is what you make of it. The more you use the memory the sharper it
becomes. Ultimately remember. Memory is not one single unit. It involves Registration,
Remembering and Recalling. Only reading does not matter. Spend atlest 1/5” of your time
recalling what you had studied.
WHY A MAN FORGETS:
1. Lack of knowledge about memory
2. Age
3. Retroactive inhibition e.g. what you have learnt in afternoon replaces what you have
learnt in the morning.
4. Physical factors, e.g. light, temperature, comforts, Haemoglobin, pain, clothing,
alcohol, drugs, depression, environment, fever, lack of Vitamin B Complex etc.
5. Pathological Forgetting, e.g. good things remembered, sad things forgotten.
Methods of memory development:
1. Ingenious methods: e.g. pegging and linking.
2. Judicious methods: e.g. mathematics etc.
3. Mechanical methods: e.g. definitions, derivations, classification etc.
FACTORS STRENGTHENING MEMORY:
1. Motivation
2. Interest
3. Confidence
4. Multisensory approach
5. Commitment
6. Mnemonics and rhyming method
7. Memory Aids Techniques
Whatever you learn through this manual you can apply them in your daily life. It will
help you in personal & professional life both. We divide our audience in 2 categories
i.e.
1. Those you read to memories &
2. Those who read to forget
Generally we see things but don’t attempt to memorise it. To effectively memorise we
must believe in our memory. We should give ourselves the positive affirmation that
“My memory is super powerful. I memorise things easily”. Also we must have an
interest in the information we want to mem ansorise.
We don’t have to remember how to wear clothes, cycling, driving, swimming, etc
because that has become a part of our sub-conscious action.
If you use this manual with complete devotion and interest, within 7 day you will be
able to develop a very strong Memory power, you will be more creative, imaginative &
develop a strong visualisation.
TECHNIQUES IS THE MOTHER OF MEMORY POWER
That’s why we will teach you the right process for memory power. If we tell you that if
you practice & follow the tools & techniques written in this manual thereafter……
…You will remember 100 digit numeric no.
… Will remember names easily.
… Will remember shopping list upto 100.
…Important phone no, dates and date of birth.
…History dates

WHEN AND HOW LONG TO STUDY :

Popular misconception-early morning study is good. Whatever time your child is
comfortable studying is the right time. Remember there are morning people and also night
people. Minimum 4 hours a day from day one. Otherwise the study becomes like the last
few overs of limited over cricket!!
HOW TO STUDY FOR LONG TIME:
NO short cuts. With commitment increases your hours of study from probably one hour a
day to around 5 hours a day, by weekly intervals gradually increasing week by week. Even
if you cannot concentrate or comprehend what you are studying mentally discipline yourself
to occupy your chair for that appointed time. Later it becomes conditioned and comforts
sets in.
WHAT POSITING TO STUDY:
Setting positing, straight backed chair, back erect table in front. Book reclining at an angle,
distance between book and eye 12th – 18th and the light falling from above and by the side
of left shoulder. The quality of light should be closer to sunlight (tubelight). Avoid any light
that throws sharp shadows. Never study in lying down position.

How We Learn

MEMORY GRAPH
MANAGING WEAK SUBJECTS:
Pretend artificial love for the weak subject for over 4 weeks and do not get surprised if your
child develops love for the subject after a short whole.
THE CORRECT PATTERN OF STUDYING:
90 minutes studies…….10 minutes relaxation…….90 minutes studies…..10minuties
relaxation.
Do not study continuously. In that 10 minutes try to visualize what you studied in the last
one hour and in case of lapses of memory refer book at once. In our last VCD (8 No.)
memory relaxation is recorded for regular use, always do homework without copy, read the
answer, memorise it and then write in your homework book.
Teaching somebody is a powerful method of ensuring your memory recall.
HOW MUCH YOU CAN REMEMBER IS DETERMINED BY
1. Heredity - DNA
2. Experience - How you interpret things in lights of past experience.
3. Education - How efficient you are at sorting and storing information.
4. Desire - How excited you are about what you want to remember.
5. Memory block - What Mechanical, Physical and Emotional conditions
affect your ability to remember.
TWELVE THINGS ABOUT YOUR MEMORY
Three Steps to Remembering : 1. Registration 2. Retention 3. Retrieval
Three Kinds Of Memory : 1. Verbal 2. Visual 3. Kinesthetic
Three Stages Of memory : 1. Immediate 2. Short-Term 3.Long-Term
Three Kinds Of Memory Blocks: 1. Mechanical 2. Emotional 3. Physical
DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME JUST TO COLLECT TOO MUCH STUDY
MATERIAL
Many Many students collect a lot of study material because they think that a lot of good
study material in enough or necessary to get success. But, the truth is that you need to learn
all the basic information from a good text book very well. You have to become an expert in
the fundamental study material: you must remember all the concepts and equations and
many important numerical examples and diagrams.
TOPPER’S SECRETS
Toppers are not 2 times more intelligent than others And they do not study 2 times more
than other students. To get success in today’s tough exams, it is not enough to work “hard”
there are only 24 hours in each day. So, you cannot study many more hours than others. The
only solutions is to learn new powerful study/memory techniques and use easily remember
able notes.
MASTER THE FOLLOWING SUCCESS FORMULA:
1. Every adversity has the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit.
2. Greatness comes to those who develop a burning desire to achieve the high goals.
3. Success is achieved and maintained by those who try and keep on trying with positive
mental attitude.
4. To become an expert achiever in any human activity.
It takes practice….Practice…Practice.

TECHNIQUE TO REMEMBER NAMES
“I know your face but fail to recall your name” is a common issue with most of us. Mostly
we are not able to remember the names of 70% people. Normally we forget names but
remember faces. The reason is what we see we remember more then what we hear. This
often embarrass us. It’s important to remember names. For every human being his/her
name is the most precious wealth.
Why we forget names is because we never memorised that name. we will take this to the
next level and say we never heard this name. to remember name of anyone, it’s important
that how much interest are we taking to memorise it.
Its important to take interest in person who is being introduced to you. While introduction
remove all other thought from your mind. Follow the process given hereunder top
memorise names….
1. Create a mental image – In this image try and identify some unique feature on his
face e.g. blunt nose, triangular beard, scar on the face, big ears etc.
2. Repeat name Several Times: Ensure that you heard the name correctly. Ask him to
spell the name or you spell it.
During your conversation use name as much as possible e.g.
What do you do Rajesh & where do you stay? )It should not be exaggerated) while
bidding Good bye use his name & say Good Bye Rajesh.
3. Connect : To remember the name of new person most powerful way is to associate
one feature of his face with his name. in case you find it difficult to associate with
the face in that case associate with any part of his body and now finally create a
mental picture.
All of us have either of the following categorisation of our names:
1. Name that has a meaning like Deepak – Diya, Sagar- Samudra.
2. Name that may not have a meaning but reminds us of something. By using that
you may be in position to create an imaginary picture i.e. Sachin hat reminds of
Sachin Tendulkar. Dharmendra-Dharmendra (hero)
3. Name that may not have a meaning and doesn’t even give us any hint i.e. Sejal,
Virali.
For this 3rd type of names you should use your imagination power. For this type of
name use rhyming names as an alternative. Connect this name with the face. With
your imagination power you should see the word connecting with the name. If the
name is funny and illogical it will be easier to remember.
If you find it difficult to remember names initially, you don’t worry in that case you
can continue using surname. Keep this practice on for some time. Soon you will
start remembering name along with surname.
Apply these techniques and soon you will realise you will remember names easily.

Math - Magic
Left to Right ADDITION/SUBTRACTION/MULTIPLICATION is the most natural and
efficient way to do MENTAL CALCULATION (of two to four digits). It also illustrates a
fundamental principal of mental arithmetic – namely, to simplify your problem by
breaking it into smaller, more manageable components to success – simplify,
simplify……..These mental skills are useful in personal life, school and best for
MENTAL EXERCISE, TO IMPROVE MEMORY.

LEFT TO RIGHT ADDITION

623+ 15999 = 723 + 59 = 773 + 9 = 782
4890 + 3241 = 7890 + 241 = 8090 + 41 = 8131 759 + 469 = 1259 – 4 = 1255

858 + 634 = 1458 + 34 = 1488 + 4 = 1492 (500 – 4 = 496) Rounding Method

LEFT TO RIGHT SUBTRACTION

3435 – 2391 = 3435 – 2400 = 1435 – 400 = 958 – 417 = 558 – 17 = 548 – 7 = 541
1035 + 9 = 1044
725 – 468 = 225 + 32 = 255 + 2 = 257 645 – 372 = 245 + 28 = 265 + 8 = 273

(500 – 32 = 468) (32 is complement of 68) (400 – 28 = 372) (28 is complement of 72)

LEFT TO RIGHT MULTIPLICATION

48 X 7 = (40 X 7 ) + ( 8 X 7)
280 + 56 = 280 + 50 + 6 = 336 67 X 8 = (60X8) + (7 X8) = 480 + 56 – 530 + 6 536
38 X 9 = (30 X 9) + (8 X9) = 270 + 72 = 340 + 2 = 342 78 X 9 = (70X9) + (8X9) = 630 + 72 = 700 + 2 = 702

ALWAYS USE RUNDING UP ADDITION METHOD AS ABOVE MENTIONED

825 X 6 = (800X6) + (20X6) = 4800 + 120 = 4900 + 20 + (5X6) = 4950
647 X 4 = (600 X 4) + (40 X 4) = 2400 + 160 = 2500 + 60 = 2560 + (7X4) = 2588
987 X 9 = (900 X 9) + (80 X 9) = 8100 + 720 = 8820 + (7 X 9) = 8820 + 63 = 8883
