Balloon sleeves and a cropped length lend this twisted-stitch cardigan a dramatic silhouette. In old Scots,
a serkinet is a bodice or jerkin.

Weave in all ends to the back of the work. Soak
cardigan in warm water to allow the stitches
to relax and bloom. Press dry between towels.
Pin out flat to dimensions given in sizing table,
paying close attention to the chart panels, to
the shape of the sleeves, to the buttonbands
(which should be overlapped and pinned in
place) and to the ribbing (which should not be
overstretched). Allow to fully dry. When dry,
stitch buttons into place along left buttonband,
corresponding to buttonholes.
