PART 3: COMPOSITION

1. A typical working day

My name is Nam and I am currently working as an R&D staff for a packaging company. I
usually wake up at 6:00 a.m., enjoy a cup of coffee and have breakfast. At 6:30 a.m I go
to the company, it takes me about 30 minutes from home to the company. The first job I
do every day is to spend about 1 hour on reading custome’s e-mails, then filtering out
the tasks. Urgent tasks need to be done first during the day, and the tasks that are not
urgent will be left until the next day. After noon, I and other members of R&D
department will have a meeting with our manager to handle some difficult questions at
work. I see that everyone in the room is very friendly and helpful, always helps each
other at work. We finish work at 5:00 pm and return home.
2. Your company
I am working as an R&D staff for a packaging company. The company is currently located
in Tan Binh industrial park and is one of Vietnam's leading packaging companies. The
company's main business is processing and recycling flexible plastic film packaging
according to customer orders. Our major customers includes Unilever, P&G, Pepsico,
Nestle,... The company's top goal is to satisfy customer needs with the most competitive
quality and price . Furthermore, the company is providing optimal solutions such as
developing environmentally friendly sustainable packaging, minimizing the amount of
waste and CO2 released into the environment. We ensure to keep the environment
green, clean and safe for everyone by many policies agreed with the government.
3. Your Job
My current job is a research and product development (R&D) staff in the field of flexible
plastic packaging. I started this job in 2019 and have worked continuously until now for
five years. From the first days of working without experience, I am now confident to
have enough initial experience to work in the packaging industry in a long way. My job
often requires working under high pressure and frequency, sometimes even requires
staff to work overtime at night to monitor products. Satisfying customer’s requirements
is a mandatory condition for our R&D staffs, so we regularly have some meetings with
customers to discuss and listen to their opinions, since then we will find solutions and
build improvement plan to get higher quality. I love my current job and hope that in the
future I will have many opportunities to prove myself.
4. Your boss
My current boss is also the person sitting next to me at the company. He is currently a
supervisor of my R&D department, his name is Tuan. He has worked in the R&D
department for 15 years, his primary role is doing job about customer service and
developing new materials. With so many years of work experience, it is easy for him to
handle the work shortly and smoothly. Whenever I or other colleagues encounter
difficulties, he is always willing and free to help us point out solutions. Customers often
praise him in meetings because the solutions he offers are highly applicable and
feasible. I am learning a lot from him how to become a careful, hard-working person in
the future.
5. A business trip
I had a business trip to the north of Vietnam with two colleagues 2 weeks ago. After
finishing work in the afternoon, I went home and packed my luggage to go to the airport
immediately. Our flight took off at 10:00 pm and landed at the destination at 11:30pm.
It was very cold at that time and I just wanted to quickly go back to the hotel and take a
rest. We spent the next two days in factories where we were having a trial production
program there. The trial results were so successful that we all felt very happy and
relaxing. On our last business trip day, we took park in a farewell party at a restaurant,
which was a beautiful memory that I cannot forget in my life.
