COGNATES: Los cognados


• Cognates are words in different languages that look alike or the same and USUALLY
share the same meaning. They are both easy to translate and recognize.
• The English language is comprised from numerous languages, which makes for a
great deal of cognates!
• In this unit, you will learn to identify cognates and use them to improve your Spanish
comprehension and reading skills.

There are Three Types of Cognates
