Achievements from the past school year
Wimbledon High School has been educating girls to go into the world
and make a difference since 1880. Recent developments include
Project Flip, a student-led initiative on neurodiversity and hidden
differences; Civil Discourse, a pioneering work on challenging binary
narratives; and the Charter, a pastoral project run in association with
King’s College School and which organised the Student Leadership
Conference in autumn 2022. In addition, a head of enterprise,
entrepreneurship and employability joined the school.

Extracurricular activities

There are clubs and societies to enrich every student’s life, from the
traditional (music, drama, sport) to the quirky. Students have
competed in a variety of international and national competitions in
the past year, including in tennis, gymnastics, cheerleading, ballroom
dancing and with England Netball and England Hockey. In addition, a
number of students perform in national orchestras. A partnership
programme with local primary schools gives students the chance to
be mentors to more than 200 children.

What is your pastoral care/wellbeing programme?

The school’s Grow pastoral programme is holistic, innovative and

imaginative. In addition to the Charter, the school runs an annual
Strong Body, Strong Mind initiative that involves everyone from
tutors to peer counsellors, heads of year to the nursing team and the
pastoral dog, Maddie. Specialist support is available when needed.
