DAILY LESSON PLAN

ACADEMIC SESSION: 2022-2023

Planner No: 1 / 9 Week No: 21st Date:

Developed by: FIC E-9 Reviewed by: FEAD, Ibd Taught by:
Subject: Math Class: V Time: (40 min)
Unit & Title: Geometry Topic: Introducing Subtopic: Features Of An Angle
Angles
Lesson Objective(S): Students will be able to define angles and their features.
Skills Focused on: Mental Math, application , demonstration
Resources: -Video(If possible ) , flash cards, two rays made with the help of hard chart
Methodology:-
(a) Prior Knowledge: (Recap, Brainstorming, Mind Mapping, etc.)
The prior knowledge of students will be checked through the following questions:
1) If you bought a pair of shoes for Rs. 999, what would you tell your friend about its price?
2) Which number is nearest to 20(15,16,17,18,21,27)?
3) Which number is closed to 100(95,101)?
After that the topic will be announced “Angles and Its Features .”
(b) Explanation:(Based on Cross- Curricular Links)
As the students have already read about angles and its features in class 4, teacher will revise all
the concepts by involving students and asking questions.
Angle: A
When two rays join with a common endpoint an angle is formed.

B C
Common endpoint is called the vertex of the angle. B is the vertex of < ABC. And ray BA and BC
are called arms of angel ABC.

Naming An Angle:
To name an angle, we name any point on one ray, then the vertex, and then any point on the
other ray.
A
For example: <ABC or <CBA

We may also name this angle only by the single letter

of the vertex, for example <B.
B C

Interior And Exterior Of An Angle:

An angle divides the points on the plane into three regions:

 Points lying on the angle (An angle)

 Points within the angle (Its interior portion. )
 Points outside the angle (Its exterior portion. )

Here X, Pand T are exterior points while Fand R are interior points.

Video will be shown(if possible) to elaborate more.

(c)Activity: students will be called on board to identify name, arms, vertex, interior and exterior
points of angles displayed on flash cards.
(d)Wrap-up: Topic will be wrapped-up by going through the main points of lesson.
 When two rays join with a common endpoint an angle is formed
 To name an angle, we name any point on one ray, then the vertex, and then any point on
the other ray.

 Points within the angle (Its interior portion. )

 Points outside the angle (Its exterior portion. )

C.W: work sheet (attached)

H.W: revise page number 129.
AFL: The assessment of the students will be done by asking following questions.
1. Define an angle.
2. What are exterior points?
3. What is vertex of an angle?

Differentiation: Slow learner will complete their C.W under the supervision of teacher and with
the help of quick learners.
