An example is the obligatory prayers, which are commanded in the Quran, but
explained in hadith. Details of the prescribed movements and words of the
prayer and how many times they are to be performed, are found in hadith.
A second exmaple is, “Fasting is prescribed for you—as it was for those before
you—so perhaps you will become mindful of Allah.” Quran, 2:183. Fasting
during Ramadan is prescribed for Muslims as it was for those before them, with
a profound purpose: to cultivate Taqwa (God-consciousnesS). A further
description of how to act during Ramadan would be as, Abu Sa'id al-Khudri
reported that the Prophet, upon whom be peace, said: "Whoever fasts the month
of Ramadan, obeying all of its limitations and guarding himself against what is
forbidden, has in fact atoned for any sins he committed before it."
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “When a man marries, he
has fulfilled half of his religion, so let him fear Allah regarding the remaining
half.” (Bukhari) Whilst the Quran specifies in 24:33, “And let those who do not
have the means to marry keep themselves chaste until Allah enriches them out
of His bounty.”
