1.0 SCOPE
This method statement covers the detailed procedure to be followed for installation
of suspension system and false ceilings
This procedure shall be read in conjunction with contract specification wherever
applicable.

2.0 PURPOSE
The purpose of this procedure is to define how false ceiling shall be carried out
under controlled condition.

5.0 RESPONSIBILITY
Project Manager:
➢ The Project Manager is responsible for the implementation of Method
Statement.
➢ The Project Manager is responsible to carry out the work as per the Method
Statement, Specification and Approved Drawings.
➢ The Project Manager shall ensure that the key personnel are well aware of the
Specification and Method Statement.
➢ The Project Manager shall ensure that all resources like Manpower, Material and
Equipment are available to carry out the work as planned and without any delay
or confusions.
➢ The Project Manager shall ensure that the resources are available to carry out
the works as scheduled.

➢ The Project Manager shall ensure the implementation of ITP and Method
Statements etc.
➢ The Project Manager shall ensure that all the activities are proceeding by the
submission and approval of IR and Check list.
➢ The Project Manager shall ensure that all the approvals are available for the safe
movements of works.
➢ The Project Manager is responsible for the effective implementation of safety
procedures.
➢ The Project Manager shall ensure that all safety precaution is in place and
personnel on site are using the required protective equipment.

6.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

6.1 MATERIAL
As per the Material Submittals.
6.2 MANPOWER
Manpower requirements such as Project Manager, Foreman, skilled labor
and helper shall be available depend upon the site requirements.
6.3 EQUIPMENT

7.0 CONSTRUCTION PROGRAMME

The works shall be carried out as per the approved sequence of program.

8.0 PROCEDURE

8.1 PREPARATORY WORKS

 Ensure that materials, samples, shop drawing and method statement
submitted and approved by the Engineer.
 Ensure that Plaster works and painting work shall be done up to the
required height.
 Ensure that all required materials are procured and delivered to site
prior to works start.
 Ensure that materials are stored in an enclosed area and protected
from damages.
 Ensure that setting out of fixing of MEP services and ceiling
suspension system shall be similarly coordinated.
 Ensure that MEP services have been completed and clearance
obtained from the concerned department.
8.2 INSTALLATION
 Levels shall be marked over the walls as per approved drawings.
 Powder coated angles as per approved materials and section details
of false ceilings will be fixed on level markings with screws and plugs
@ every 200mm c/c.
 The hangers will be installed according to spacing and level required.
 Main –T-sections 1.5 mm as per approved materials will then be tied
to hangers @ 900 mm c/c.
 Cross T-BAR 1.2mm will then be fixed in between all the Main-T-
sections to its lock position perpendicular to it @ every 400mm c/c.
 Leveling shall be carried out to prevent any subsequent download
movement.
 During these installation process MEP items installed were to be
taken care, ensuring no damages.
 Inspection will be carried not prior to installation of ceiling boards.
 Upon completion of framing work including final adjustment to
ensure entire suspension is level, the ceiling boards were then be
fixed up using galvanized screw at proper intervals.
 Access panels and MEP opening location to be determined and set
according to plans.
 After ensuring the ceiling boards were installed accordingly and
acceptable flatness, sealing up of joints will proceed.
 Final inspection will be made by the Engineer and contractor and to
be rectified to any comments given by them.

9.0 HOUSE KEEPING
All work places will be cleaned from waste materials and ensuring clean and healthy
work environment as well as maintain free access and egress in the event of
emergency.

10.0 SAFETY
All works shall be controlled as per the Safety procedures. Safety equipment will be
worn at all times.
Safety procedures are to be considered before, through and after the completion of
the work to avoid any possibility of danger to humans or the construction.
Movement of vehicles should be controlled to avoid any confusion with any other
casual traffic.
