1.0 SCOPE
This method statement covers the detailed procedure to be followed for surveying/setting out
works. This procedure shall be read in conjunction with contract specification and drawing where
applicable.

2.0 PURPOSE
The purpose of this procedure is to define how surveying shall be carried out under controlled
condition.

5.0 RESPONSIBILITY
Project Manager:
• The Project Manager is responsible for the implementation of Method Statement.
• The Project Manager is responsible to carry out the work as per the Method Statement,
Specification and Approved Drawings.
• The Project Manager shall ensure that the key personnel are well aware of the Specification
and Method Statement.
• The Project Manager shall ensure that all resources like Manpower, Material and Equipment
are available to carry out the work as planned and without any delay or confusions.
• The Project Manager shall ensure that the resources are available to carry out the works as
scheduled.
• The Project Manager is responsible for the effective implementation of safety procedures.

6.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

6.1 MANPOWER
Manpower requirements such as Project manager, Foreman, skilled labor and helper will be
available depend upon the site requirements.

6.2 EQUIPMENT

7.0 CONSTRUCTION PROGRAMME

The works shall be carried out as per the approved sequence of program.

8.0 PROCEDURE
• Operatives will set up a safe work zone around works areas. Once the area has been
segregated then work equipment will be brought to the area
• Material equipment and site set up will be brought to site, distributed to the compound
loading area and stored as agreed with the site management.
• Electrical contractor will review area and complete isolations of any electrical services.
• Clean as you go policy to be conducted at all times. Skip location for waste disposable to be
confirmed with management authorities
• Operatives will be required to review the scope of work, method to be undertaken and risks
associated.
• The zero level has to be determined & located by using proper surveying instruments.
• This bench mark (+/-0.00) have to be marked clearly on a concrete block stand & have to be
protected so that no damage can occurs to it.
• This Bench mark will be the checking reference for all the levels inside the plot.
• Sufficient level profiles shall be installed and adequate stake, templates and benchmarks
shall be provided to enable spot-checking of excavation depth.

9.0 HOUSE KEEPING

All work places will be cleaned from waste materials and ensuring clean and healthy work
environment, as well as maintain free access and egress in the event of emergency.

10.0 SAFETY
All works shall be controlled as per the Safety procedures. Safety equipment will be worn at all
times. Site safety Officer will check and ensure all safety precautions are taken prior to
commencement of work.
The working area must be clearly marked with sufficient hazard boards, alarming tape and cones if
needed.
Safety procedures are to be considered before, through and after completion of the work to avoid
any possibility of danger to the humans or to the connection.
