TASK 3

The diagram illustrates the floor plan of a central library 20 years ago and the most recent library
floor plan. Looking from an overall perspective, the library has undergone significant changes to
create a more friendly environment and to incorporate new technology.

Upon entering the library previously, the central area was occupied by a seating area which now is a
open central area leading into the entrances of multiple rooms. Previously, on the left side of the
library was an enquiry desk which has now been replaces with a cafe. The other corner of the library
on the right side used to be a children's book room which has now been replaced with a lecture
room. The adult fiction books area has stayed in the same placed but new enchantments have been
added to the area such as an information desk and self-service machines.

On the left side of the library, the reading room has been replaced with a computer room. further
down the left side, the CDs, video games and computer games has also been replaced by children's
fictions books room with a small are for story telling events. In the middle of both the rooms on the
left side, now is an area for all reference books which was previously an area for adult fiction books.

The diagram depicts the floor plan of a central library 20 years ago and its most recent layout. From a
broad perspective, the library has undergone substantial transformations to cultivate a more
welcoming atmosphere and integrate modern technology.

On the left side of the library, the reading room has been exchanged for a computer room. Further
down the left side, the CDs, video games, and computer games have been replaced with a children's
fiction books room, which includes a small area for storytelling events. In the middle of both rooms
on the left side, there is now a dedicated space for reference books, which previously housed adult
fiction books.
