In the presence of that assembly develop the bodhicitta aspiration that all
beings will recognize the essence of self-knowing wisdom and rest in the state
of luminosity.

actually possessions and mental emanations as a treasure of pure enjoyments

When accumulating a hundred thousand mandala offerings, and so on, you can

THE GURU YOGA

Meditate that you are in essence Yeshe Tsogyal and your outer form is the
Yogini, who has a red body, one face, and two arms. She is naked and
adorned by a flower garland.
Above your head, in an expanse of rainbow lights is your root lama as Guru
Rinpoche encircled by the eight vidyādharas and the twenty-five principal pupils.

and appearing clearly in the great state of the equality of clarity and
emptiness.

Meditate in that way and then pray that the field of accumulation will invite

In these times, the number of Buddhists in the world is increasing. However, as
they are so busy and with little opportunity for study, it is necessary for there
to be a concise easy practice that has the essence of all practices. Also,
because Dharma practitioners are unable to maintain a regular daily practice of
the preliminaries, either because they are too busy or too lazy, I decided it
would be good to create this simplified form of the Longchen Nyingtik
preliminaries.

The reason why I kept the original guru yoga is that it has a special blessing
in this Dharma lineage. I have, with a pure motivation, composed this practice
especially for those both inside and outside China who have the karma and
aspiration that have brought them to the Longchen Nyingtik in these troubled
times. I confess from my heart whatever errors and faults there may be.
Through this merit may all beings, and in particular those connected with this
practice, reach a state free of misery within great bliss and self-knowing
awareness.

Composed by Hungkar Dorje, who has the title of being the rebirth of Do
Khyentse.
