Many things can influence the academic achievement and emotional growth of a student.

In
this regard, peers have more of an impact than teachers do.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
Opinion: Agree
Main idea 1: academic success – motivated by competing w/ classmates
- Have a desire to outperform peers
- Ex) survey: peers motivated them to study more
Academic success is often driven by the motivation to outperform one's peers in a
competitive educational environment. In the pursuit of academic excellence, students are
frequently motivated by the desire to surpass their classmates, viewing education as a
competitive arena where success is measured in comparison to others. For instance, a recent
survey revealed that a significant number of students cited their peers as a primary source of
motivation, with the awareness that classmates' achievements fueled their determination to
study more diligently. This phenomenon is particularly evident when students observe their
peers achieving academic milestones, leading them to internalize a competitive spirit and a
heightened commitment to their studies. The survey respondents explained that witnessing the
success of their classmates served as a catalyst for increased effort and dedication. While some
argue that fostering a competitive mindset may induce stress and anxiety, it is essential to
acknowledge that healthy competition can inspire individuals to push their intellectual
boundaries, ultimately contributing to a culture of academic excellence.

friends at school. This tells us how important the classmate relationship is. To conclude,
classmates create an environment for children to be more mature. For this reason, peers play a
more significant role than teachers do. Classmates provide new ideas, beliefs, exp.

Beside competing others, students should also gather in a group and help each others. If
competitive make envy and non sociable, team works help the students be closer. Moreover,
team works make peers more friendly and. For example, a survey study from schools about the
style of teaching: competitive or cooperate. In schools taught their children to compare
themselves to other group. Even though this style makes their students smarter cause they
need to surpass their colleague, the students seem not sociable. However, in public school, the
students make peers, cooperate and together they go up. The survey have shown unfortunately
that school teach students to compete there classmate, there are more school violence cases
then in school that teach students coherence.
