JOIN THE SCHOOL BAND June 26, 2024
The Appa Public School is glad to announce formation of a formal School Band
team. A school band gives students opportunities to enhance their skills and spirit of
teamwork, musical abilities, coordination, and a host of other abilities. They may be
trained in instruments like brass, woodwind, jazz bands, small ensembles etc.
The School Band will be a combination of pep, Jazz, and Marching Bands
Instruments
Woodwind instruments like flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, and bassoon; Brass like
trumpet, trombone, French horn, and tub; percussions like drums, xylophone,
cymbals, and marimba; Strings like cello and double bass, and other possible
instruments according to
Skills
The students will be trained to have skills in music, playing instruments,
coordinated movement, teamwork, discipline, and leadership.
Activities
Students will be required to spend extra time for regular practice for various
performances in school events like parades, sports events, competitions, social and
professional events, stage events, etc.
Advantages
The members of the School Band Team will have opportunities to enhance their
confidence, self-esteem, creativity, and time management skills. Being a member of
the School Band will be an experience that they would love to recall at all times and
everywhere, and therefore, leadership and coordination skills exist lifelong and oft is
correlated with high performance in academics. The students who would like to join
the School Band will have to bear the cost of the costumes and hence, those who
register for the band should register with their Section Coordinator through their
respective class teacher.
Team Strength
Currently, the total number of the band team is restricted to 50. The selection will
be based on a first come first serve system.
Eligibility
The students from Grades VI to IX (Boys and Girls) are eligible to register for the
School Band. The parents should be ready to bear the cost of the Band Uniform and
should agree to allow their ward to participate in periodic training and display.
Admission will be granted on the basis of the applicant's aptitude and/or skill,
which will be tested by a competent school authority.

Kindly print the registration form attached herewith, and submit it to the Class
Teacher along with the cost of costumes.

UNDERTAKING AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

By seeking admission to the School Band I agree to pay the amount Rs 7000/- towards the Band
Uniform and other costumes and make my ward available for practice or performances at all
informed times irrespective of school holidays. Band members who continuously absent
themselves from practice without genuine reasons will be dismissed from the Band. Any cost for
damages or loss of items provided by the School should be reimbursed. An enrolled band member
can withdraw their membership only at the end of the academic year.
