Business Analyst, IT

Position Summary:
As a Business Analyst you will help define and deliver solutions that provide business outcomes and will serve as a
facilitator between the Application Development team and Business Stakeholders.

This role works with the Application Development Agile Team consisting of Business Relationship Managers, Scrum
Masters, Product Owners, Software Developers, Architects & Business Stakeholders to evaluate business and technical
requirements, identify needs, and support development of strategies to maximize digital opportunities. Senior
Business Analyst will create functional and nonfunctional product backlog items and user stories for the application
development. Senior Business Analyst will identify user needs, document requirements and processes and addresses
improvements to accomplish business objectives. The Senior Business Analyst provides expertise in identifying,
evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business requirements. This role will
aid in defining and implementing standard processes for the company while ensuring local business needs are met.

 Work in continuous delivery mode, analyzing, testing and delivering features iteratively.
 Consistently demonstrate Agile processes and principles for effective delivery.
 Consistently demonstrate Lean principles for efficient delivery.

Requirement Elicitation & User Story Management:


 Work with the Business Relationship Manager, Scrum Master and Product Owner on defining the project’s
detailed scope.
 Responsible for creating, refining, and maintaining user stories and associated deliverables such as process
flows and test cases to meet development and stakeholder needs.
 Provide guidance and facilitates conversations as needed on sizing stories, choosing stories for sprints,
splitting stories and determining technical story details.
 Work with the Product Owner and other BAs with the prioritization of user stories in the product backlog.
 Work with the Product Owner, BAs, and Quality Assurance Analysts on defining acceptance criteria sufficiently
for testing.
 Work with the Product Owner to confirm the delivered solution is in fulfillment of the stated requirements.
 Work with business stakeholders to test user stories.
 Guide the team to ensure a solid understanding of the ceremonies, expectations, deliverables, dependencies,
and their role in the Agile development methodology.
 Provide coaching in the discipline for junior resources.

Qualifications:
 Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, or a related field
 Minimum of 7-10 years of experience as an Business Analyst working on information technology projects.
 Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks and Agile tools. Proficient with user stories, Scrum, Kanban,
retrospectives, team planning and other related Agile techniques.
 Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
 Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Fluent in English (written and spoken).
 Proficiency in requirement gathering techniques, process modeling, and documentation.
 Experience interacting with cross-functional groups to support consensus outcome/decision.
 Familiarity with project management methodologies and software development lifecycle.
 Experience in PL/SQL or Oracle is mandatory.
 Knowledge of relevant tools such as Microsoft Visio, JIRA, Confluence, etc.
 Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) is advantageous.
 Experience moderating team dynamics and leading through influence.
 Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization and an understanding of
facilitation techniques.
 Experience in how to apply different techniques to optimize the team's effectiveness when developing in an agile
framework (for example: various Burndown technologies, differing retrospective, sprint planning handling bugs,
etc.).
 Experience with removing blockers for teams and acting as a champion for a cross-functional team or
department.
