DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
The purpose of the document is to describe the Methodology and Procedure of
temporary/permanent Road Construction to demonstrate the activities to be carried out
in accordance to the contract requirement for WAS . The Scope of these activities shall
consist of Aggregate Sub base & Base Course Construction to be carried out as per
Approved Shop Drawings.

A Setting out survey on high level grade location at the jobsite which required to be cut
and leveled as per drawing. All tests must be carried out by approved 3rd party testing
agency.

1. WORK METHODOLOGY

1 Conduct ES&H induction to all employees, then distribution of Personal Protective


Equipment (PPE).
ES&H department with Plant & Equip. Manager to conduct equipment inspection
and ensure are in good working condition such as to check that no oil & diesel
2 leakage, lights, reversing alarm, workable seat belt, foot brake, handbrake.

ES&H department to check and ensure to have valid driving Iqama’s, TUV for
3 operator, safety passport to all employees. Consequently, to check and ensure
equipment documentations

Before STARRT Meeting, Supervisor must have permit available for area where
4 excavation is to be done in order to identify all hazards related to that specific
excavation. Field Engineer to ensure that permit is available before STARRT
meeting.
5 After meeting employees will sign the STARRT CARD and Supervisor will keep the
STARRT CARD until the end of the day.
Ensure to protect existing utilities with barricades.

7 Surveyor shall ensure prior to start survey work the survey equipment is have
calibration certificate and must be approved by WORLY.
8 Conduct setting out survey activities in the jobsite, layout and marked work
location as per design, grade, level and dimension as shown on approved drawings.
Before backfill material, the following shall be observed:
• Areas to receive fill shall be free of roots, trash, or other foreign material.

Ensure the site clearing and base and compaction are carried as
10 per the specification and approved quality plan.
11 The source for the Aggregate Sub base & Base course and marl material to be
approved.
12 The approved source material to be sampled and tested by the approved 3rdParty
testing agency.

The Aggregate Subbase and Base Course materials are stored properly in assigned

area, roller compactors to start compaction to reach the required result before
the approved 3rd takes samples and make the tests, water specifications to be as per
Maaden requirement.

22 Subbase and Base courses shall be compacted layers as per specification.

23 Internal inspection/verification shall be conducted in the area which are


completed to ensure it is ready for (FDT) field density testing.
24 Ensure testing conducted by approved 3r d party testing agency.

25 On areas were FDT were failed shall be moisten the surfaced before re-compaction
shall be made before the rescheduled density test.
26 All unsuitable material that has been cut from site to be removed to approved
location.
27 All works carried out as per MA’ADEN standard and SOW.
