Introduction
Touching the hearts of people and opening the minds of children can give you joy
and contentment which money could not buy. This is a best thing a teacher can treasure for
life. Teaching is said to be the noblest profession of all. Teachers greatly affect every child in
any way. They serve as a role models among youths and fountain of information where the
learners acquire appropriate knowledge and skills for their further development and to
contribute to the progress of the society in which they belong.
Teaching is not an easy task. It requires great effort, time and energy. With the
diversity of learners which has become the foremost concern among teachers nowadays,
future mentors must be full-equipped with knowledge, skills and strategies to attain
efficiency, effectiveness and to meet the challenges in the field of teaching. This is what off-
campus practice teaching experiences as to be efficient, effective and competent teacher in
the future.
A teacher is one who must be willing to serve others. Teaching is a special calling
intended to those who deserve satisfaction from seeing others learn and grow. Educators
say that teaching can be rewarding life work.

BELIEFS ON TEACHING AND LEARNING (PRE)

Learning is a significant, innate, ongoing, and lifelong activity, in my opinion. As a future teacher, I
hope that everyone will have the chance to learn and that reasonable standards will be upheld that
will challenge every student. Additionally, they must be able to show that they are ready to learn
and view each engagement as a chance to share what they have learned. Since the main goal of
assessment is to enhance learning, it gives all students the opportunity to show what they know,
value, and are capable of. In my opinion, learning is a process of making sense of the universe, thus
we should be concerned with the evolution of concepts and understand that they are created and
flexible. Since every student is different and unique, we must acknowledge and take into account
individual variances and learning preferences. To do this, we must devise new strategies for utilizing
the wide range of personal, social, and cultural experiences, as well as the abilities and information
that learners can bring to new learning. Learning also enhances learners' metacognition—their
understanding of how they think and learn—allowing them to control their learning. As a result, we
need to teach them the optimal methods of learning and metacognition.
BELIEFS ON TEACHING AND LEARNING (POST)

As a learner and future educator, I think that one of the best methods to speed up the learning
process in the classroom is to keep students motivated. Every student has different reasons for
wanting to study. We are incredibly important in helping students keep and increase their
motivation. The confidence of students can also be increased by using creative teaching methods.
Students are shown how the course material relates to their own lives and real-world situations by
using a constructivist approach. Children may benefit from having a clearer sense of purpose as a
result. I believe that learning about and getting to know our prospective students will enable us to
develop the most pertinent lesson plans. In my perspective, learners should be able to complete
challenging assignments. Due to the fact that their tasks do not improve language acquisition,
students are grumbling about them. As a result, the students become disinterested in the subject
matter and bored. On the other hand, if the tasks are excessively challenging, students could
become frustrated. As aspiring educators, we must also foster an atmosphere that motivates kids to
study more. If students refuse to participate in class discussions, their ability to learn will suffer. It is
crucial, in my opinion, to create a welcoming and supportive environment in the classroom. I work to
accomplish this by inspiring my students and showering them with compliments. I strive to
personalize each lesson topic and design pair and group exercises in place of whole-class discussions.
The maintenance of good teaching standards can also be aided by constant reflection and revision.
We must regularly consider and assess our own pedagogical methods. After a long day at work, we
could feel "stuck" in our routines and less motivated to teach. In order to stay current and learn
about some of the most recent trends in education, we should make an effort to attend various
training sessions or webinars hosted by our university or the Commission on Higher Education.
Additionally, there are many wonderful websites that we may subscribe to for tons of inspiring
lesson suggestions.
DAILY JOURNAL
DAY 1: SEPTEMBER 1,2022
On this day I feel so nervous and excited

at the same time because for a long time I will become a Pre-Service Teacher. Early in the morning
we go to Arriesgado College Foundation to be checked by Mrs Navaro and after that we go to our
designated schools. Me and my co Tagum City National Highschool PST arrived on time at the school.
We waited Mrs Navaro to guide us, and after a few hours Mrs Navaro came and she introduce us to
the CityHigh teachers and after that we are told to go home early to prepare to tomorrows class.
Day 1. September 1, 2022

OBSERVATIONS:
 Started the class with greetings.
 Recalled the topic they tackled last time.
 She provided the learning objectives.
 She provided an activity before proceeding
in discussion proper.
 She discussed the topic in a very systematic
and detailed way.

 She ended the class by providing an assignment.

On day 2, we are assigned to each Coordinating Teacher. I am assigned with Mrs Ramos a Grade 8
TLE teacher. Our class starts on 7:30 I timed in 7:26, 4 mins before the class starts. On my first day of
deployment I am very nervous what will happen next but as a teacher I am not transparent what I
feel, in that way my students will not know that I am vulnerable so that I can earn their respect on
the first day. My Ct give 2 minutes to the students enable them to prepare and then first they pray.
My Ct ask the students on how’s their day and my Ct starts to check attendance.

At this day as I observed my Ct recalls what
happen yesterday and ask if there was an
assignment. My Ct wants a twist in every test
or in an oral test, so that the students will not
be bored. After that my Ct motivate the
students to make and put a hard work on their
assignments.

Every start of the class the student should
pray, after that my Ct remind the
students to always wear your mask, and if
they catch up the topic or not, if they find
the topic hard or easy. While discussing
the topic the teacher should interact to
the students by calling them to read the
topic.
After the class she told me that I will
write on the class record all the section
that she handles. Today was a happy
and tiring day because I experienced
the work of being a teacher and it’s not
easy because there are so many paper
works to do.

Based on my observation my Ct pays attention to those students hard headed students. Discussion
should be fun not boring, to maintain the energy of the students. Students should also read not only
the teacher. Reminder as a teacher we should have a long patience.

Effective way to handle hard headed students is to
scatter them, and we should interact on them more to
make them active during the class and if they answer
correctly as a teacher, we should complement them.
Joke minimally, to get the students attention and if quiz
is given let them study for a few minutes. Today City
High had their Earthquake Drill.

We should keep our room clean, ask the class who are the cleaners and if they do their job to clean.
While giving quiz, give them a clear instruction on what to do. After the checking of the quizzes we
should appreciate those students who have got high scores and motivate those students who have
not passed the quiz. Always remember to scatter the hard headed students enable them not to
disturb the class and at the same time they can focus and understand the lesson. My Ct told the
students that tomorrow she will give a summative test.

As usual my Ct firstly check attendance, my Ct instruct the students on
what will be the rules on their summative test. I observe who are
cheating and using phones during the summative test. After that I
checked their summative test paper and record it.

On the 9th day my Ct is not around and ill take over the class,
my Ct instructed me what to do. I am assigned to let the
students write what’s on the book page 8-9.

On the 11th I observed my Ct to do greetings first, then
prayer and lastly check attendance. Learn to
understand some students who are attention seeker
because of their family situation. On this day, we
check the activity that they do yesterday. After that we
gave them time to finish the activity of their other
subject since we have a lot of time left. My
observation today, you must give time to students to
relax and don’t give too much activity.

12th day is a cool day because on this day I am assigned to go to the room first. My class pearl
respects me and welcomed me genuinely. I am touched by how they respect me and shows me a
good manner. Also, jasper welcomed me with a happy face. At first jasper have a group of friends
who are very naughty but suddenly I helped there to be more attentive to the class and so on they
show me love and respect at the same time.
OBSERVATIONS:
Next, is she gave another activity or Performance
task to do. The Performance task are to: (1)
Prepare two egg dishes, (2) Take photos of your
finish products and photos of yourself doing the
preparation and cooking at home (3) Send it in
Google classroom. And the last is the she gave
the rubrics about cooking eggs.

On this day I prepare them for their oral recitation, I
gave them enough time to recall and study the
previous lesson. My Ct came and starts the oral
recitation and call randomly. The discussion of my
CT is interactive because she makes sure that the
student will not get neither sleepy nor bored while
she’s discussing. She was asking the students
individually so that the students will pay attention in
her discussion.

Today, I watched a Demo
Online Teaching of Mrs. Millan about
the Different Ways of Preservation.
Mrs. Millan introduces the Content
Standard, Performance Standard,
and Main Objectives of the lesson.

Every day I am assigned to go to the room first, we pray
and I settle the class and wait Mrs Ramos to enter the
room. Later on after the class is done I am task to check
the quizzes and assignments of the four sections of Mrs
Ramos.

Teacher Catherine Cabison is a
dressmaking teacher. She discussed
Taking of Body Measurement, but before
that, she asked some of her students to
lead the prayer. She gave a class reminder
before she proceed to her Lesson. And after
that, she check the attendance, recap their
previous lesson, and next she gave an
activity called “JUMBLED WORDS”. Then,
she asks her students about the next topic
and she proceeds to her lesson and
explaining it loud and clear. At the end of
her lesson she gave an assignment about
performing the following body measurement
with video.

Day 15th I am assigned to check the height and weight of the students. The advisory of Mrs Ramos
the section pearl I measure their Height and Weight individually.

Teacher Nikki Paula a Grade 7
Dressmaking Teacher and the Lesson that
she will be discussed is all about Sewing
Tools and Equipment. As I’ve watched the
video she asked a student first to lead a
prayer then after that greetings with her
students and checking of attendance.
The SSG Election is happening today in

Tagum City High, I’m glad that I witness
their election.
My Cooperating Teacher request

me to handle and his class he gave a topic
about the Solving of the unit measure. So
that I teach the Grade 8 students I’m so
happy because my student is very participative.

As I’ve observed the class of
Teacher Arlene, she gave a quick review of
her past lesson and proceed to her lesson
proper. After that she shows a video and
explaining about the different cooking
methods of eggs.
Next, is she gave another activity or
Performance task to do.
Last day of the week and today is Friday and it’s our 17th day.
In grade 8 pearl and jasper are discussed by Mrs Ramos and at the end of the topic
they are not given any assignment because its Friday.

Today, I don’t have a duty I’ve
watched a Demo Teaching of

Teacher Roselyn Presno about
“Carry out Measurement and
Calculations in Require Task”
(COOKERY 8). The first thing that
Teacher Roselyn did was she have
the Pre-Test about Cooking
Abbreviations. And then, she
proceed to her discussions. After she
discussed, she have another
following question of her students
and lastly the
assessment/evaluation. As I’ve
observed Teacher Roselyn discuss
all her lesson great.

In this day it is the start of the week today its Monday, my CT start with a prayer and give them
energizer because Monday is their GMRC and my CT play a video with a dancing music video.

Teacher Julie Cajes discussed

first about Characteristics of Sleeping
Garment. And after that she has an
activity to be answered by her
students. And last is she will be
discussing her lesson about
“Nightwear and Sleepwear”.

Today is Tuesday, My CT first subject is on class pearl, I am task to go first and let the class settle
down. After that my CT came and ask someone to lead the prayer, my CT ask the students on how
are they and after that my CT give the bible verse of that day. Mrs Ramos let the student memorize
the bible verse to encourage student to pray and be still connected to God.

It is in the middle of the week; we discuss all

Today I watched the video of Sir Wawie Jay Candinato about "Types of Chemicals
for Cleaning and Sanitizing Kitchen Tools and Equipment". At first he check the
attendance of his class then he recap of what he discuss last time. Sir Wawie
discuss all his lessons well.

S. Absin and the topic she well be discussed is

Folding Techniques”. At first she read the
Learning Objectives and give an activity which
is related to hertopic.

is Friday and it’s our 22nd day
The students are so happy
because it is the last day of the
week. They are on lesson 4.
There are senior high students
who are assigned to teach for
the relax of the teacher for the
teacher’s day and so on I help
them to discuss on how to
convert unit measure.

DAY 23: OCTOBER 03,2022
Today is fresh start of a long week, and
its Monday. I go the classroom first and
settle the class Pearl and I am so
grateful that my students are so good to
me and very respectful. My CT gave the
class a daily bible verse the Matthew
6:33, “But seek first his kingdom and his
righteousness, and all these things will
be given to you as well”.

On that day, I watched a video of Teacher Gladileen A. Pedregosa and the topic she
discussed is all about “Hand Tools and Equipment in Computer Servicing”. At first,
she reviewed her lesson of what she discussed last time. But before she will discuss
about her topic she ask questions of her students about the parts of a computer and
then she proceeds to her new lesson.
On this day I am assigned to help the one student

that is a slow learner, starting today I will be the one
who will guide and help him to catch up easily the
lesson and let him understand it.

Cherubim C. Cerdana about
“Handle Housekeeping
Request”.
Its
Wednesday and today is our 25th day. My

pleasure to be part of the teacher’s day here at City High and I considered it as one of my
edible experiences in my life. My heart is about to burst, and my tears is about to fall because
of the students who greeted me that day. Even though I am just a practice teacher they make
me feel that I am their teacher already. Some of the students give flowers, chocolates,
candies, cake and many more. I gifted my CT to show her a thankyou and a appreciation to
her.

Sally Borda a Grade 7/8 Teacher. Her topic
was all about “Kitchen Tools and
Equipment”.
My CT gave me a task to group the 4 section she handled.

For their summative test. This is for the twist on the summative that will be given. Putting a twist on
a summative test in order to have the attention of the students.
OBSERVATIONS:

Today is the day for summative test, I am tasked to go first on section pearl and also jasper to divide
the class into three according to the group I made. My CT told me to watch who are cheating and
helping the representative of each group.
Today is fresh start of a long week, and its Monday. Every start of the class the student
should pray, after that my Ct remind the students to always wear your mask, and if they catch
up the topic or not, if they find the topic hard or easy. While discussing the topic the teacher
should interact to the students by calling them to read the topic.

31: OCTOBER 13,2022
Today is Thursday, October 13,
2022 and it’s our 31st day.
My CT tasked me to divide the given
Periodical Test to her 4 sections, my CT
told me to check the answer key of the
test and correct all the wrong answers to
the answer key.

On this day I prepare them for their oral recitation, I
gave them enough time to recall and study the previous
lesson. My Ct came and starts the oral recitation and call
randomly. The discussion of my CT is interactive
because she makes sure that the student will not get
neither sleepy nor bored while she’s discussing. After
on my 2 sections observation, I am assigned to encode
the periodical test questions to make it a short review
and converted into a funny app named quizzlet.
Today is fresh start of a long week, and its Monday. Today is my

last in FS1 at Tagum City National High School. We attend the flag
ceremony because we are the one who will host the United Nation
celebration. After the flag ceremony we witness the parade of TCNHS
band and the teachers. In this day I told my CT that there will be an
intramurals on ACFI and I am excused because I played for the
education department as a basketball and ML player.
