2023 Brigada Eskwela Narrative Report and Accomplishment Report

During the 6-days Brigada Eskwela from August 14 to 19, 2023, I, as a teacher
and BE Coordinator, I actively participated in various activities aimed at preparing
our school for the upcoming academic year. Before the implementation, our School
Facilities Coordinator assessed the physical facilities and maintenance needs with
the help of the Education Physical Facilities Division, School Watching Team, and
Parents-Teachers Association. We strictly adhered to the prohibition of solicitation
and focused on voluntary work. I created the Brigada Eskwela Working Committees,
ensuring that teachers, non-teaching personnel, parents, learners, community
members, and stakeholders were all part of the effort. In the pre-implementation
stage, we conducted extensive public awareness campaigns to promote the
importance of Brigada Eskwela.

We established partnerships for resource mobilization, carefully identifying

target resources and potential volunteers. I helped draft Memoranda of Agreement
(MOA) to outline responsibilities between the school and its partners. During the
program implementation, I directed and monitored the activities outlined in the
school work plan, closely aligning them with the School Improvement Plan and
Annual Implementation Plan. I guided work teams, ensuring tasks were performed
efficiently, and monitored actual accomplishments against identified needs.
Managing administrative and financial matters, I provided support and managed
funds generated for Brigada Eskwela. We recorded all in-kind donations and
services accurately while offering logistical support to volunteers with materials, first
aid kits, and refreshments. Each day, we conducted inventories of materials used
and prepared documents for tax incentives for partners.

Day 1 - August 14, 2023:

Kick-Off and Planning for Action
The energy was palpable as volunteers, including eager learners and
dedicated parents, gathered to start Brigada Eskwela. Our initial task was a campus-
wide clean-up involving sweeping the grounds to remove litter and debris. We
ensured each volunteer's attendance was meticulously recorded, appreciating their
commitment from day one.
Day 2 - August 15, 2023:
Removing Clutter and Unnecessary Decorations
Our commitment grew more on the second day as volunteers, once again
including parents and students, joined us. The teamwork was inspiring as we
assessed classrooms for unnecessary decorations and posters. Oversized signages
with commercial content were taken down, aligning with the guidelines. Volunteers
demonstrated their dedication as they meticulously removed distractions from
classroom walls. We ensured clean schools by clearing classrooms of unnecessary
materials, decorations, and signage per the guidelines. As we wrapped up the day,
we acknowledged and thanked each participant, recognizing their vital role in the
process.

Day 3 - August 16, 2023: Refreshing Classroom Walls and Facilities

With a mix of determination and enthusiasm, volunteers, including parents and
students, continued to contribute to our cause. Day 3 witnessed us rejuvenating
classroom walls and ensuring pristine comfort rooms. Learners showcased their
sense of responsibility as they assisted in these efforts. The unity was tangible as we
worked together to create a clean and pleasant learning environment. Every
volunteer's presence was acknowledged and recorded, underscoring their
significant contributions.

Day 4 - August 17, 2023: Nurturing Greenery and Faculty Comfort

The involvement of volunteers, including parents, students, and community

members, remained steady on Day 4. Our attention shifted to the outdoor spaces,
where we trimmed trees and watered plants. This engagement extended beyond
classrooms, reflecting a holistic commitment to the school environment. Meanwhile,
generous donors made their presence felt by providing essential materials like paint
and mops. Their contributions were celebrated, underscoring their valuable role in
enhancing our efforts.

Day 5 - August 18, 2023: Sweeping and Ground Maintenance

As we reached the penultimate day of Brigada Eskwela, the daily influx of

volunteers persisted, including parents, learners, and community members.
Sweeping the school grounds became a collective endeavor, showcasing our
dedication to maintaining cleanliness. Learners energetically participated,
reinforcing their connection to the school community. The presence of donors, who
contributed cash and materials, was acknowledged, highlighting their meaningful
support.
Day 6 - August 19, 2023: Reflecting on Accomplishments and Future Plans
On the final day, we united to reflect on our collective accomplishments.
Learners, parents, and community members took pride in the transformed school
environment. Our gratitude is extended to the donors who provided essential
resources, from cash donations to materials like paint and mops. Their
contributions have been instrumental in realizing our goals. As we looked ahead,
plans were discussed to sustain this spirit of cooperation and ensure an even more
successful Brigada Eskwela.
