Stokes Undergraduate Scholarship Program

06/12/2024

Since I was a little girl, I have always been interested in linguistics. I figured that I could
make a career out of that, and so I am working towards that goal. I am dedicated to this program
so that I may serve the CIA and their interests with my skills.

I plan on becoming a translator, you see. The money from this scholarship will not only
help me pay for my tuition, it will aid me in furthering my career. I will help people understand
the sick and wounded who cannot speak or understand English. Nobody deserves this money
more than me, for I will use it to the best of my ability to serve my community.

I have worked hard to achieve the highest grades I could possibly gain since kindergarten,
despite push back from my teachers. Even though I have gotten lower grades, I’ve always
jumped back up from them and gotten even higher scores. My past mistakes and failures serve
only as inspiration for my success in the future.

Neither I nor my family can afford college on our own. I’m relying purely on myself and
my academics to pay for college, and this scholarship will help me immensely. I have to fight
hard with my brain, and my skills. Eighteen thousand dollars in money towards my tuition would
guarantee me a semester.

Not only have I fought hard academically, but I’ve fought hard for my community. I
worked hard for tornado relief after the tornado that tore through Kentucky in December of 2021.
I worked tirelessly along with my father to help aid tornado victims who had been hurt or
displaced by the tornado.

All my life I have had to anticipate struggling to raise money for college, but with the
money from this scholarship I will be able to put away those worries and be able to focus on my
studies. I’ve worked so hard, my whole life, just for a chance to follow my dreams towards the
betterment of myself and others in the future. Without the money from this scholarship, I will
have to rely on someone to hire me, and I will have to go into debt. I plan on traveling the world
and helping people with my studies, so if I go into debt without this money, it most likely is
going to be several years before I can actually pursue most of my goals. It will stagnate my
future greatly, and I am truly not sure if I’ll be able to focus towards my goals.
I deserve this scholarship money because I have worked hard for it my whole life. I
deserve the ability to go to college and focus on my studies, not my funds. This opportunity is
great, and I would be a fool to pass it up. For without my leadership, my skills, my academics, I
would be nothing. It is purely because of my drive and my knowledge that I have come this far in
life, and this scholarship is going to be the driving force to help me aid and guide others in the
future.
