EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Ever since man evolved into social animal he felt the need for “Transportation”. As he
formed a civilisation he felt the need for “Better Transportation” Today on the threshold of
exploring the universe he feels the need for “Best Transportation”.

Truly the modern world relies on transport which can be airways, roadways, railways and on
water. Bicycle was the most important part of road transportation in early days and as the
scenario changed bicycle was transformed into a fast, stylish and trendy mode of transport
known as Motorcycle, now-a-days known as Motorbike.

The topic of the project is “Sales strategies adopted by TRIJAL TVS motors”. TVS Motor
Company is one of the leading manufacturers in India.

In terms of competition, TVS has nick-to-nick competition with Hero Honda and Bajaj. TVS
has a lot to work to do if it has to take lead and remain the leading manufacturer in India.

sectors including automotive, manufacturing, finance, and electronics.

TVS Motor company is the flagship company of the TVS Group, known for
manufacturing motorcycles, scooters, mopeds, and autorickshaws. It is one of the largest
two-wheelers manufactures in India and has a significant presence in international
markets as well.

Apart from TVS motor company, the group also include other companies
such as Sundaram-clayton Ltd, TVS electronics, and TVS credit services, among others.
The Company has a long history, when it was a founded as a transport company. Over
the years, it has diversified its operations and has become a prominent player in the Indian
business landscape. TVS is known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and
customer satisfaction, which has helped it maintain a strong position in the market despite
tough competition

TVS Motor Company

TVS Motor Company is an India multinational motorcycle manufacturer headquartered in


Chennai. It is the third -largest motorcycle company in India by revenue. The company
has annual sales of three million units and an annual production capacity of over four
million vehicles. TVS Motor Company is also the second largest two-wheeler exporter in
India with export to over 60 countries

TVS Motor manufactures the largest range of 2-wheelers, starting from mopeds to
scooters, commuter motorcycles, to racing-inspired bikes like the Apache series and the
RR310. Whatever your requirement be, we have one for everyone. TVS Motor’s strength
lies in its extensive research and development, resulting in products that are industry-
leading in terms of innovation.

We at TVS deliver total customer satisfaction by anticipating customer needs and

The TVS Company is a public sector which was traded as BSE:532343 and NSE:
TVSMOTOR. It is an Automotive industry funded in the year 1978 and the founder of
TVS Company is T.V Sundram Iyengar their headquarters are located in Chennai, Tamil
Nadu, India. TVS Company is served worldwide. Their operating income is Rs.1,978
crore and their revenue is Rs.31,776 crore.

About duration

My internship at Trijal TVS Motors spanned a period of one months, I had the
opportunity to work closely with the talented team at Trijal TVS Motors, contributing to
meaningful projects and expanding my skills in the automotive industry.

HISTORY

TVS RAIDER 125

A TVS Raider 125 is a mileage bike available in 4 variants and 11 colours. The TVS
Raider 125 is powered by 124.8cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 11.2 bhp and a
torque of
11.2 Nm. With front disc and rear drum brakes, TVS Raider 125 comes up with combined
braking system of both wheels. This Raider 125 bike weighs 123 kg and has a fuel tank
capacity of 10 Liters.
TVS Motor Company made huge waves in the 125cc, premium commuter motorcycle
space with the launch of the Raider. This Hosur-based two-wheeler maker's 125cc-class

contender competes against the Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 and the Honda SP 125 in the Indian
market. TVS Motor Company offers the Raider with the option of Drum brakes, single-
disc, and Connected tech.
All variants use a 124.8cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, three-valve engine that
produces
11.2bhp of power at 7,500rpm and 11.2Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The motor is
paired to a five-speed transmission. The company claims that the Raider can sprint from

cowl. This 125cc sporty commuter motorcycle is available in four colour options –
Striking Red, Blazing Blue, Wicked Black, and Fiery Yellow.

APACHE RTR 310

Developed with an investment of INR 50 crore, the new TVS Apache RTR 310, launched
on Wednesday at a starting price of 2.43 lakh (ex-showroom), is aimed at the premium
lifestyle naked motorcycle markets, both the domestic, and the international, mainly Latin
America, Europe, and the ASEAN region.

TVS has introduced their flagship streetfighter - the RTR310. This motorcycle is their
most expensive naked bike till yet and has been built on a platform that it co-developed
with BMW.
This new TVS will be built around a steel trellis frame, similar to the RR 310, but the rear
subframe differs TVS has used the same 312.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor for
the Apache RTR 310, as it does for the RR 310. The motor dishes out 35bhp at
9700rpm and
28.7Nm at 6650rpm and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. It benefits from a slipper-and-
assist clutch too the claimed top speed is 150kmph.

TVS has equipped the new Apache RTR 310 with a revised frame. It’s suspended on USD
front forks and a mainshock and both sides get adjustments for preload, compression and
rebound. Meanwhile, the braking hardware comprises a single front disc and a single rear

disc with dual-channel ABS. The brakes are mounted on 17-inch wheels wrapped in dual
compound radial tyres.
Along with full LED illumination, the new Apache gets a fully digital TFT with the
ability to connect GoPro. It comprises all the basic readouts like the speedometer,
odometer, trip meter, fuel level indicator, gear position indicator, and temperature, and
gets smartphone connectivity as well. The latter gives the rider access to call and SMS
notifications, as well as document storage and more. For the rider aids, the Apache RTR
310 also gets ABS, side stand cut-off and ride modes. Interestingly, this bike also comes
with a climate control seat and also six-axis IMU unit to take care of cornering ABS,
cornering traction control and also cornering cruise control. The bike is also equipped
with tyre pressure monitoring system and bi-directional quick shifter.

TVS is offering the RTR 310 in a total of three variants. There’s also the brand’s BTO
(Build to order) program with the bike but that gets marginally expensive. The new RTR
310 will go against the upcoming KTM 390 Duke and also the BMW G310R.

Following are the major products offered by the company.

• JUPITER
TVS Jupiter, reached 4 million plus happy customer during the financial year
2020-21.To continue the journey of providing ZX Disc intelliGO and a sheet metal wheel
variant was introduced in this period.TVS Jupiter ZX Disc intelliGO was launched in
February 2021, making it the first 110cc scooter to have stop go technology ( idle stop /
start ).TVS Jupiter 125 is offered in Drum Alloy, Disc and SmartXonnect variants, priced
between Rs 86,405 and Rs 96,855.
Primary highlight for Jupiter 125 are metal IMAXX body, LED headlamp, front
external fuel cap and True to its tagline ‘ZYADA SE BHI ZYADA’. TVS intelliGO, another
feature offered on the Jupiter 125, offers enhanced riding comfort, mileage and reduces
emissions as it intelligently switches off the engine during long idling at traffic signals and
other stops.

• TVS XL 100
TVS XL100 i-T0UCH START crossed a new milestone of 4 million customers since its
launch in 2015. The year 2020 was the 40th anniversary year of TVS Mopeds and a special
edition variant- “WIN EDITION’ was launched to mark this celebration .Win edition was
launched with many appealing style features including a new colour ‘Delight Blue’, with
finish mirrors, metal shield for the platform, diamond diamond pattern seats and chrome style
elements. HeavyDuty series has been the most popular one among the XL customers and the
new edition would add more interesting style options for them to choose from.This variant
comes with useful features like easy on-off combo switch and USB mobile charging. Also,
the Company has introduced entry level variant with kick start to provide affordable option to
the customers with BS6 technology benefits.

• I-QUBE
Launched in January 2020, TVS iQUBE marked the foray of company into the
Electric Vehicle segment. The TVS iQUBE is the smart mobility solution that promises to
deliver a convenient, personalised, connected and future mobility experience. It comes
equipped with SmartXonnect, advanced features like Geofencing Ride Statistics, Telematics,
remote charge assist and navigation along with 117 connected features.With a top speed of 78
kmph, a range of 75 km in a single charge and features like Q-park assist, the TVS iQUBE
redefines style, comfort and riding experience. A dedicated public charging ecosystem
spanning across 10 dealerships in Bengaluru.Further enhances customer ease and
experience.With TVS iQUBE, the company company also leveraged digital channels for
vehicle booking and sales. A digitally enabled purchase process allows seamless home
charging unit installation providing a truly hassle-free experience to customers.The product
has seen extremely encouraging response from the customer.
The TVS iQUBE is powered by a 4.4 kwh electric hub-mounted motor that makes
140 Nm of torque and it delivers a pick-up of 0 to 40km/h in 4.2 seconds.The TVS iQUBE is
equipped with a Combined Braking System(CBS) that provides efficient and safe braking
performance. CBS ensures that both the front and rear brakes apply simultaneously when the
rider hits the brakes, shortening braking distances and improve the stability.

• TVS SPORT
TVS Sport (known as TVS Metro in Bangladesh) is a 110 cc motorcycle
commuter bike manufactured in India by TVS Motor Company Ltd. Initially launched in
2007, it received updates in 2015 and 2017.
The design features in areas of style, mileage, and pricing created a demand for this
vehicle among new-generation motorcyclists. According to the company, the enhanced
features focused on the fuel efficiency of the motorcycle. In 2017 TVS Motor Company
launched the TVS Sport with BS-4 engine which comes with a large fuel tank with 10 litre
capacity. It is one of the high fuel tank capacity models in the 110 cc segment in the Indian
motorcycle market.
The 2017 TVS Sport is suspended over standard telescopic forks up front and 5-step
adjustable twin shocks in the rear. The bike measures 1,950 mm in length, 705 mm in width,
and 1,080 in height with a ground clearance of 170 mm. The Brakes include a 130 mm drum
in the front and a 110 mm unit in the rear. The all-gear electric start enables the vehicle to
start at any gear.
