Dear all,

Warm Greetings on the Occasion of “International Yoga Day” 2024!!!

It is a moment of immense pleasure and I want to congratulate the AIIMS Patna family for the continued
endeavour towards integrating Yoga in Modern Medicine teaching and practice under the visionary and
able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Gopal Krushna Pal (Executive Director & CEO) in the last two years. In the
modern era of lifestyle disorders, our indigenous ancient practice of yoga has become an essential
component of health and well-being of the society. Like previous year, to commemorate the International
Yoga Day (21st June, 2024), AIIMS Patna is conducting activities to promote awareness, to teach yoga
practices and deliberating the science of yoga and its impact on women health and well-being. The theme
for this year “Yoga for Women Empowerment” is relevant and pertinent for the Holistic approach to health
and wellbeing, through the different phases, of women’s life course and require them to adapt yoga as an
integral part of their lifestyle.
I wish AIIMS Patna, All the Best for the success of International Yoga Day celebration.

Greetings from AIIMS Patna,

In India, to make the culture and tradition of yoga alive, the International Yoga
Day is celebrated every year on 21 June. By mastering the postures of yoga
one can develop a healthy mind, soul, and body. It gives me immense pleasure
to invite you for the celebration of 10th International Yoga Day at AIIMS, Patna. Theme for this year
celebration at AIIMS, Patna is “Yoga for Women Empowerment.”
Ours is a celebration for a fortnight and it was an honest attempt to cultivate the habit of Yoga
among the faculties, staff and students. This year events such as painting competition for kids, Nukkad
Natak done by students and Rangoli competition etc. will be the highlights of the Yoga Pakhwada. On 21st
June, a National Webinar with eminent speakers from across the country will be organized. Do join us,
adopt yoga and feel the calmness, happiness, and relaxation that you are searching for in this stressful
life.
I express my sincere gratitude to our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji for making us
proud by adopting 21st June as the International Yoga Day at United Nations Assembly on 11th Dec,
2014.
I conclude with the quote of The Mother of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, “Oh India, The Land of Light and
Spiritual Knowledge; Wake up to your true Mission in the World, and show the way to Union and Harmony”

1. Download and install Cisco Webex Meetings App in your desktop/ laptop/ android mobile/ Apple

2. Click “start meeting”.
3. After registration of participation in Webinar, a link will be sent to the respective mail
4. Click on the link sent to join the meeting
5. After joining, you can test your mike, speaker and camera.
6. Click “Join with video” or “Call via device audio”.
7. After joining the meeting put your mike in “Mute”.
8. You are requested to join 15 minutes before the Webinar.

International Yoga Day Celebration Activities at AIIMS Patna


Under the initiative and directives of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and Ministry of AYUSH, AIIMS Patna
proactively took a significant step towards promoting holistic healthcare under the able leadership of the visionary
Executive Director, Prof. G. K. Pal for the establishment of an Advanced Centre for Yoga within its premises. This initiative
reflects the growing recognition of the therapeutic benefits of yoga in enhancing physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
The opening of this center marks a pivotal moment in AIIMS Patna’s commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare
solutions. The Advanced Centre for Yoga will serve as a dedicated space for research, education, and practice of yoga,
integrating it into the existing healthcare framework of the institute. With a team of experienced yoga instructors and
healthcare professionals, the center aims to offer a wide range of yoga programs tailored to address specific medical
conditions, promote preventive care, and support overall wellness. By incorporating yoga into its repertoire of medical
services, AIIMS Patna reaffirms its commitment to patient-centric care and sets an inspiring example for other healthcare
institutions to follow.
