1. A shell is fired at an angle of 60o to the horizontal direction with a velocity of 392 m/s. Find the time of flight, horizontal
range and maximum height attained. [Ans. 69.23s, 13578.9m, 5880m]
2. Find the angle of projection at which horizontal range and maximum height are equal.
3. A boy stands at 78.4 m from a building and throws a ball which just enters a window 39.2m above the ground. Calculate the
velocity of projection of the ball.[Ans. 39.2 m/s]
4. From a point on the ground at a distance 15m from the foot of a vertical wall, a ball is thrown at an angle of 45o which just
clears the top of the wall and afterwards strikes the ground at a distance 5m on the other side. Find the height of the wall. [Ans.

5. A body is projected with a velocity of 40m/s. After 2s it crosses a vertical pole of height 20.4m. Find the angle of projection

13. A fighter plane flying horizontally at an altitude of 1.5km with speed 720km/h passes directly over head an aircraft gun. At
what angle from the vertically should the gun be fired from the shell with muzzle speed 600m/s to hit the plane. At what
minimum altitude should the pilot fly the plane to avoid being hit? [take g=10m/s2]

19. A target is fixed on the top of a pole 13m high. A person capable of projecting a stone with a velocity 10√ . If he wants

20. A projectile takes off from a horizontal plane with initial velocity of 10m/s at an angle of elevation 45o. It just able to clear
two parallel hurdles each of height 2m on the same horizontal plane as the point of projection, separated by distance r from each

21. P,Q and R are three collinear points. A projectile is fired from P then find the ratio of the times in going from PQ with QR.
