I. Aims and Objectives:


By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
1. KNOWLEDGE
 Acquire vocabulary related to free time activities (e.g., swimming, playing basketball, reading).
 Understand the concept of free time and different activities done during leisure hours.
2. COMPETENCIES
 Engage in discussions about their favorite activities and express preferences.
 Interpret visuals (video and drawings) related to free time activities..
 Participate in pair or group activities to share ideas and information about leisure activities.
3. PERSONAL QUALITIES
 Encourage active engagement and participation in discussions and drawing activities.
 Foster curiosity about different leisure activities and preferences.
 Promote respectful communication during interactions with peers and the teacher.
II. Teaching Method:
 Use visual aids such as objects (e.g., swimming goggles) and pictures to introduce the concept of
free time activities.
 Show a video with various leisure activities to engage students and facilitate listening
comprehension.
 Conduct drawing and discussion activities to encourage active participation and language practice.

SHIFT 2: Speaking About Free Time

I. Aims and Objectives:


By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
1. KNOWLEDGE
 Identify and use vocabulary related to free time activities (e.g., play football, ride a bike).
 Practice speaking and listening skills in conversational contexts, such as discussing hobbies and
free time activities.
 Understand how to structure a weekly timetable, including days and activities.
2. COMPETENCIES
 Engage in meaningful conversations with peers to gather information about their free time
activities.
 Work cooperatively with a partner to complete a task (interviewing and filling in a table).
 Arrange information into a structured format (timetable) based on collected data.
3. PERSONAL QUALITIES
 Express ideas clearly and confidently during partner interactions.
 Listen actively to peers' responses and show appreciation for their interests.
 Take ownership of the task by actively participating in discussions and completing the timetable
accurately.
II. Teaching Method:
 Students will work in pairs to conduct interviews about free time activities and complete a
structured activity table.
 The teacher will guide discussions on free time activities, providing prompts and vocabulary
support as needed. (Guided discussion)
 The lesson will follow a task-based learning approach where students complete a specific task
(interviewing and filling in a table) to achieve learning objectives related to speaking and
vocabulary.
