Detailed description

The quick-fit regulator mask is comprised of the fo11owing

five sub-assemblies:

-a pneumatic harness,

- a mask,

- a microphone,

- a supply tube,

- an oxygen regulator.

(1) Pneumatic harness (See Fig.2)

The head harness can be separated from the regulator.

This tube gathers together the radio 1iaison cord and

the flexible ducting of the equipment.

The radio cord and the supply tube are bundled

together using resilient tubings.

Operation of the regulator

When the regulator is supp11ed from rest, oxygen enters

chamber (6) through duct (r3),f11ter (9) and calibratsd

leak (8).Pi1ot valve (25) 1s maintained in the cloaed


position by the pressure exerted by apring (24) on

combined diaphragm (26).

As the oxygen cannot escape Erom chamber (6),the pressure

equalizes on either side of main valve(5).The main valre

1s held closed by the difference in surface area on whicn
